I need to find a book - A Fantasy Series with a female Protagonist

Hi,

My name is Krishna. A few years ago I have left a fantasy series unfinished. and now when I want to complete the series, I am unable to remember its name. Could you please guide me towards the book.

I am jotting down the basic storyline

A female protagonist just watches her father change into a dragon and subsequently get killed
then she gets admitted into a college where dragons and humans study together to become Dragon riders
there is a Prince and his friend, both who are her love interest
there is an antagonist who is imprisoned in forest

these are the rough details which I could provide. I will be very happy if anyone could guide me towards that book

This kind of sounds like Seraphina by Rachael Hartman, but that was one book with a sequel; not a series.

I've never read it, but the Eragon series is about dragons, so maybe that's it?

You might also want to post this in the 'What's the Name of That Book' group. More people will probably see this post then.
