Hi, everyone - this thread is for members to add books and series' that they love and want to recommend to others for reading outside our group activity. Please include:

The book title &/or series title
The author

You may also want to add what you loved about the book or the author, the genre, and the Goodreads link. This is optional, but it's a great way to get to know a little more about each other.

We are respectful and non-judgmental of reading choices...so fire away with your favorites.

Kay (kkfar) | 502 comments All of Julie Garwoods. Historical and contemporary romance, with suspense in each. Love the characters and interaction between characters. They make me laugh often.

Lauren Danes Chase Brothers. Story about a town with good looking chase brothers who gave a quirky Mom who is very wise. Love the stories of how they are matched with their wives.

All Kathleen Woodiwiss books. First romance writer I read. All historical romances.

Maya Banks, KGI series. Romance, action/adventure. Brothers who rescue those in need.
Colter series (very sexual, multiple partners so not for all, but I really like the stories, overcoming an evil husband, a tragedy, and betrayal from the man you love.

Christine Feehans Dark Series. A different take on vampires, special abilities, find mate. Loved the stories, and there are a lot if them, until the most recent ones.

Christine Feehans Ghost Walkers series. Genetically enhanced psychic men And women who work together to come to terms with what was done to them, while protecting each other from those who would harm them while protecting each other and of course the one
they love.

Christine Feehans Sea Haven Seven sisters who are witches. Love the characters and the
stories of each finding the man they love. In this series there is an interesting and quirky house.

Christine Feehans Leopard series. Men and women shifters finding each other. Just really like these stories.

Marie Force Fatal series. Mystery, suspense and love involving a female Detective and Politics in Washington.

Hannah Howells Wherlocke series. Historical romance about large family with special
Abilities who help others with those abilities.

Catherine Coulter's FBI series. Mystery, suspense and romance. A couple of agents a
Common thread in Each.

Catherine Coulter's Sherbrooke series. Historical romance with a twist.

Johanna Lindsey's Mallory Family series. Historical romance with fun loving rogues.

J D Robb's In Death series. Eve and Roarke, the perfect couple and a Great Romantic love With suspense and mystery added. Love all the characters in these stories.

Nora Roberts haven't read all of them but have really liked everything I've read

Nora Roberts Three Sister Islands series. Three witches on an island, finding their husbands and Overcoming evil.

Nora Roberts Born In series. Based in Ireland. Ladies overcoming a not so happy childhood but finding their happy as adults.

Guess that is all for now. This is very general but I loved the characters in all of the books listed above along with the story line. Many have a lot of family ties, humor and quirky family members.

Here are my very, very favorites - besides Emily's work:

The All Souls Trilogy, by Deborah Harkness (A Discovery of Witches, Shadow of Night, and The Book of Life). The series is paranormal but it is so much more that one genre doesn't even begin to cover it. It's deeply romantic, mysterious, suspenseful, and absolutely full of history. There is science, everything from Darwin to DNA. It's about home and family. It turns every other vampire-witch series completely on its ear. It deals with faith in a powerful way. Traditional values are woven in, and the sensuality is very subtle. You will never read another series like it.

The Gabriel Series, by Sylvain Reynard (Gabriel's Inferno, Gabriel's Rapture, Gabriel's Redemption) - A powerful story of redemption and transformation. Some sex, some strong language, but it supports the theme and sets the stage for the complete transformation of the lead character, a truly lost, lonely man. The sensual scenes are few, far between, and so tastefully done that they are seriously reverent. The build-up is a slow burn ... and this is why it has an avid international following.

The Words Series, by Georgina Guthrie. (The Weight of Words, Better Deeds Than Words ... and I can't remember the 3rd one right now...plus a novella that is as sweet as can be). There is definitely more sex and it's pretty hot, because this is new adult, college romance and the sexual tension is central to the conflict in the story; but the theme - the meaning of words - what we say, when, how we say them, how they affect us - and the weaving of the works of Shakespeare throughout makes it a really special reading experience.

That's what I have for now...

Jessica, did you hear that Deborah Harkness is writing another series based on the characters from the original trilogy? It's called The Serpent's Mirror and it's about the de Clermont archives...coming in 2017. I did the happy dance all over the house!!
