SOLVED. YA Fiction, Asylum [s]

I bought this book for my niece for Christmas. I think it was two years ago and i think it had just come out our at least within that year. She doesn't have it anymore but i wanted to read it as well.
I think it was about a boy, sent to school at a place that used to be an old mental institution. It had pictures from actual asylums that had been shut down. I think it was supernatural based with ghosts i think.
