Exception to term "requesting any method more than once"

Is it possible to make an exception to the term:

"Not requesting any method more than once a second means that each call made per developer must not occur within the same second."

There is a good chance that with our app it going to go over more than one request per second. As a non-profit organization that has no intention to make this app for commercial use would it be possible to make an exception?
