With all the classics challenges floating around I've yet to find one that has really motivated me. It's been about 4 years since I've last finished reading a classic literature book. So here's a challenge that's open and not so limited.

The Classics: any book that was written before the 80's and has withstood the tests of times (meaning that it's still available at bookshops or online).

The Challenge: Well read of course. :) Set your own lifetime challenge. Make your own thread if you'd like (I will).

Genres: only limitation is no picture books (I.e. Green Eggs and Ham)

For those that don't want to do the challenge discussions are open to all wanting to talk about Classic books.

Q: Can members post books on the group's bookshelf?

A: Yes, as long as they're classic books you've read and recommend, then place as read in our group shelf. If the classic book is a TBR book then place in our reading shelf. I have been trying to post our books read and such but as this is a new group, I've been adding currently reading books and recommended books.

From the 1001 book series list:

1001 Books You Must Read Before You Die
http://1001beforeyoudie.com/1001_book...

1001 Movies You Must See Before You Die
http://1001beforeyoudie.com/1001_movi...

Some good stuff on these lists and I'm still perusing the lists.
