NOS4A2 is on sale just now for $1.99http://smile.amazon.com/NOS4A2-Joe-Hi...
You can then add audible for just $3.99 if anyone is interested.
I just purchased it too, even though I've already read it. I'm taking my physical copy to have Joe Hill sign it today. Wish me luck!
Off to a promising start, about 2hrs into it. Think this may be Joes best book so far. It is dripping with creepiness.
I found this on Overdrive (it helps having access to several participating libraries) and am glad this was chosen as I might not have known about it otherwise. I keep forgetting that Stephen King has a son who also writes horror even though I've read one of his books already. This seems like an excellent choice based on the many positive reviews, so much thanks to those who chose this for October.
Bing is my favorite character and I can't even tell you why. He just always made me feel sick and innocent at the same time. What a twisted individual.

I listened to this last year and I thought Kate Mulgrew absolutely killed it. Best female narrator I've heard

I did, I posted a pic too. :)
Off topic but, for anyone that might be interested, you can get the audio performance of Locke and Key absolutely FREE over at audible right now. You don't have to be a subscriber, you just have to have an account. It's a full cast production and 10+ hours of it. http://www.audible.com/pd/Fiction/FRE...
Kate really is a great narrator. So far I like this book wayyyyyy more than heart shaped box. That & 20th century ghost are the only joe hill books I've read. Out of the 3 I like this one best so far.
I've listened to Horns and Heart Shaped Box prior to this Latasha. Nos4a2 is my favourite if the 3 so far. I have had 20th century ghosts on my nexus, ready to read for ages. What's your opinion of it?
I love all the nod's to papa's work. overdrive breaks the book into weird parts so I think I'm at the half way point? at times I feel so sorry for bing then he does something totally crazy and I'm just like, "kill the fucker!!! or says something awful.
I love Mulgrew's portrayal/voicing of Bing!Having read this book already, I have no feels for Bing, whatsoever. :)
those are the only 2 pics I could find for Mr. Manx's car. I pictured it like the car from the movie Burnt Offerings. close enough I guess!
Finished last night **** stars. This could have been a ***** book for me, but it seemed to lose some of its intensity/creepiness in the last third.
I'm close to half of the way done and overall am loving it so far. There are some things I like about the book and the narration, and some things I don't like. I look forward to reading people's impressions of the audiobook (and the book itself) in the next few weeks. Those are great pics!
thanks Goo. I thought they might help. I have maybe 30 minutes left in the book and I'm trying to savor that last lil bit.

In Wraith, we get to learn more about Christmasland, Charlie Manx and the Wraith. For instance, Charlie had kids.
oh wow! I didn't see those pictures on my phone Charlene. that's great. I finished the book on my way to work this morning. it was great! I like this joe hill book best so far. it was intense, creepy and great fun! I'm so glad I listened to this with y'all.
I didn't realize it til the end of the book but Hutter..nosferatu... jonthan harker's name was changed to hutter in the film nosferatu!!
(no spoilers here!)I just finished the audiobook this evening and thought Kate did an outstanding job. Early on I kept trying to figure out why here voice seemed familiar. I Googled her name and was pleasantly surprised she played one of the characters in "Orange is the New Black." Normally I prefer listening to male voices (not sure why), but I really enjoyed her performance.
As for the book, I do have some thoughts I'd like to post here but will wait until we're closer to the end of the month just in case someone reads them accidentally. Even with "spoiler!" mentioned everywhere it's possible someone can read the post without meaning to. I hate when that happens to me.
I just realized that with Christmas coming around the corner this is probably great timing for that book. I'll probably never look at that holiday the same way again, just as I never looked at clowns the same way again after reading Stephen King's "It" as a child.
I finished this today. I loved Horns, but this was even better! I'm guessing Joe Hill had a really good time writing it. Super creepy, pretty sick, and fun!
I'm glad you both enjoyed this one, Goo and Kit! :)I can't recommend the graphic novel compilation, Wraith. The story goes into WAY more about Christmasland and the Wraith. It was awesome.
I loved this audio book SO MUCH!I wrote a whole new review for it here:
https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
I wrote the review before I listened to Joe Hill's comments at the very end of the audio. I loved what he had to say.
