Gremlin | 966 comments My on deck books include:

Annihilation (Southern Reach, #1) by Jeff VanderMeer (which I'm reading currently) and The Forest of Hands and Teeth (The Forest of Hands and Teeth, #1) by Carrie Ryan
I'm trying to find a few more good spooky titles to read this month. Ideas are welcome! :)

Otherwise, I'm looking at Chime by Franny Billingsley Vanishing Girls by Lauren Oliver Charm & Strange by Stephanie Kuehn Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children (Miss Peregrine’s Peculiar Children, #1) by Ransom Riggs UnWholly (Unwind, #2) by Neal Shusterman

message 6: by Ashley Marie (new)

Ashley Marie oooh Gremlin I would definitely count the whole Unwind series as spooky! Unwholly in particular, I hope you love it!

The other spooky title I thought of was The Monstrumologist (The Monstrumologist, #1) by Rick Yancey , although I haven't read it yet.

A Monster Calls by Patrick Ness was also very good.

Christie (cereale) Here is what I have planned for October:

Currently Reading
Lost Girls An Unsolved American Mystery by Robert Kolker Eve by Elissa Elliott

Challenge Reads:
Fever (The Chemical Garden, #2) by Lauren DeStefano Game (Jasper Dent, #2) by Barry Lyga The Firebird (Slains, #2) by Susanna Kearsley

Others
Eleanor the Queen by Norah Lofts Lair of Dreams (The Diviners, #2) by Libba Bray Library of Souls (Miss Peregrine's Peculiar Children, #3) by Ransom Riggs The Fever by Megan Abbott Everything Bad is Good for You by Steven Johnson

Out of these, I think Lost Girls An Unsolved American Mystery by Robert Kolker Game (Jasper Dent, #2) by Barry Lyga Lair of Dreams (The Diviners, #2) by Libba Bray Library of Souls (Miss Peregrine's Peculiar Children, #3) by Ransom Riggs The Fever by Megan Abbott all have the potential to be creepy, scary, or gruesome which should make them perfect October titles.

message 10: by Jenny (last edited Oct 03, 2015 08:48PM) (new)

Jenny (narcisse) | 1946 comments October already eek.

Finish:
The Hero of Ages (Mistborn, #3) by Brandon Sanderson

Mugzy (mugzys) | 22 comments I'm finishing The Well of Ascension (Mistborn, #2) by Brandon Sanderson

But I have so many books to read! I'm trying to get through the Mistborn series because I pre-ordered Shadows of Self (Mistborn, #5) by Brandon Sanderson so I still have to read The Hero of Ages (Mistborn, #3) by Brandon Sanderson The Alloy of Law (Mistborn, #4) by Brandon Sanderson
But my cousin also gave me The Shack by Wm. Paul Young and God on a Harley by Joan Brady
Aaaand Walk on Earth a Stranger (The Gold Seer, #1) by Rae Carson The Golden Ashfruit by A.L. Harris The Great Hunt (Wheel of Time, #2) by Robert Jordan

OMG, Christie. Thanks for the reminder! I have to put Lair of Dreams on reserve at my library (as I've been anxiously awaiting the second installment in that series). And you're right - if the first one was any indication, this one could be spooky, too!

Even though it's not YA, Jenny, if you're interested in doing Ancillary Justice as a buddy read, let me know! I've had it on my Kobo for too long! :)
