It sounds like a Marion Chesney type story, but she's written a ton and I read a lot of them many years ago.Or maybe Georgette Heyer?

Thank you, but I don't think it's any of them. I don't think I've read any of their books and looking over their works, none of them matches what I was looking for. Thank you nontheless.
Dangerous in Diamonds by Madeline Hunter is part of a series that has some similarities to what you are looking for, as I recall.

I think I have some details, mentioned above, skewered to oblivion lol.
It's Bettina Krahn's The Last Bachelor. Thank you all for your help.

The widow was left a house which turned into a refuge for some other ladies. She managed everything about the house especially the financial and management issues. I can't seem to remember much about the main plot itself nor the hero.
I remember one side character running to their home after a fight with her husband who later on begged with her to come back into their home. I also remember one of the characters who died of old age if I'm not mistaken.
Oh, right. I think the widow and the hero changed roles for about a week. With the hero, wearing corset while managing the house. He inevitably became close with the other ladies of the house.
The widow worked on the gentleman's store. I think she was assigned to the shoe department. But this is all I can remember at the moment.
Please help me find this.
