Jonathan Chiu | 9 comments I'm looking for a book about the future where we will be able to control the time of a person. lets say we can slow down a person by 10 seconds. we will still be able to move a a regular pace except for the person who was slowed down and if we touch the slowed people, we would get burned.I'm not sure when i read this book .Hopefully some of you might know what is the book tittle.

Your post has been up less than a day. You will need to give it a little more time.

I know its frustrating but people are seeing your post and I'm sure someone will recognize it.

Something like Charles Sheffield's Between the Strokes of Night https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Between... or like John D. MacDonald's "The Girl the Gold Watch and Everything" The Girl, the Gold Watch & Everything ?

SparksofEmber | 957 comments If you really want to find this book, I suggest updating the title to something more than "sci-fi" so people will have a better idea what the book is about without having to click through. "sci-fi book, slow time for a person but you get burned if you touch them" - something like that.

Jonathan Chiu | 9 comments Another bump
Additional info that i just remembered:
-Main character was trying to escape from something the government implemented or something
-Gets into trouble when he finds out about the punishment when you make trouble in the place of slowing down your time
-main character used a fake id or something after he escaped form his pursuers

Andy | 2124 comments One book that has "slowing down" of a person as a punishment is Fred Pohl's Narabedla, Ltd ( Narabedla Ltd.)

Bob Hardy | 40 comments Not the one, but this one is very good, also unknown title.
A thief is approached by mysterious people. They give him a list of famous artworks to steal, and a way to stop time for everyone else.
He goes around New York and gets all the stuff for them. He says "Why do you want all this stuff?"
"Well, the atomic war (or supernova, meteorite strike, or...) will happen tomorrow, so we.re saving all these treasures. You can keep time stopped for yourself if you want--or not".
