I was born and raised in north-western Iowa, spent a few years in South Dakota, and a lot of time in Minnesota and Illinois. The Midwest is great! In all the places I've lived, I've never met any people who are as kind, caring, and polite as those in the Midwest. Every time I move to a new place I feel like I become a spokesperson for Midwest Living :D
I am now living in Fernandina Beach Florida. Have been here more than 20yrs. But home is Bremerton, Washington
Molly Beth and Kathy,How are yall holding up from the flooding there in S.C. I talked to my parents there in Columbia and it sounds like a lot of it got washed away. Hope you fared well :)

Same here! I just explained to someone that I'm actually about 7.5 hours away from NYC. LOL!

Stephanie wrote: "Western New York (nowhere near NYC, which everyone assumes when you're from NY state). :)"Yeah, I grew up in central Illinois, and it's the same thing there - people not from Illinois equate Chicago with Illinois...
Lived on Long Island, NY for most of my life but I bought a house here in Lake County in Central Florida in January 2015.
I'm from the bottom of the bin. It's not much, but it's home...It is however, a good place for writing poetry:
I had a little nut tree,
Nothing would it bear.
So I savagely hacked it down with a mattock and burned it as part of a Satanic ritual.

I am from Michigan too and think the windmills are fantastic. I creeped my wife out by driving right up to the base of one in the "thumb".

There's nothing wrong with living in the Midwest - 4 d..."
I know the Midwest has appeal I think they need a good PR push! And better public transportation and less suburban but small city vibe then they can lure some more ppl to the west!
Kansas City, Mo. Small enough not to feel overcrowded, large enough to have movie theaters that are "select" enough for limited engagement opennings. Not quite perfect (too many fountains), but close enough.
Originally a tiny town in NC called Reidsville.
Now, New Brunswick, NJ and I frequent NYC.

Greetings from South Africa! I'm currently residing in Kempton Park (small city East of Johannesburg).
