Rebecca | 215 comments For the month of October, let’s get spooky! If straight up horror isn’t your thing, find a paranormal story to help set the Fall mood. Every October, we put together a fantastic Halloween display full of all the spooky, funny, paranormal goodness you can find, if you need inspiration.

This month, I think I’ll read Ghost Train to New Orleans by Mur Lafferty, a spooky, but not scary read. I love scary books, but I hate sleeping with my lights on, so this is a happy medium.

I really enjoyed reading this book (I finished a few days ago) and I'm so inspired by the challenge and the season, that'll I'll be picking up a new one of of our display later this week!

*Update* I choose The Haunting of Hill House by Shirley Jackson and it has been absolutely wonderful!

Eric | 4 comments When it comes to books and movies, few have really scared me. Maybe I don't allow myself to suspend my disbelief, or maybe most are too predictable. So what's scarier than fiction? The real thing. Dive into America's Most Haunted - The Secrets of Famous Paranormal Places by Theresa Argie and Eric Olsen, and get your heart racing as you read personal accounts of people coming face to face with demonic and benign ghosts. This book, like so many of our scary reads, can be currently found on our Halloween book display.
