Shelli I'm reading The Greatest Knight and I am loving it!!! I also started The Secret History on audio and it is pulling me right into the story!

message 1752: by Jannene (new)

Jannene I started Explosive Eighteen (Stephanie Plum, #18) by Janet Evanovich that I got for Christmas. It is a fast read as I'm already 33% of the way through it and just started it today.

Jannene I just finished Explosive Eighteen (Stephanie Plum, #18) by Janet Evanovich . I really liked this book. I have just one issue and that is how she goes back and forth between Ranger and Joe. She needs to pick one. I love reading these books to see what grandma is up to.

Hi Jannene

Pleased you liked the latest SP book. I know what you mean about Joe and Ranger, you would think she would have made her mind up by now.

Shelli Started The Night Circus and The Scarlet Lion....I have 4 books going!!!

message 1757: by Doug (new)

Doug Bradshaw I also started Night Circus. Well written and intriguing. Now that it's the first of the year I need to start working on my book. LOL. Sorry to make you cringe, Shelli

message 1758: by Shelli (new)

Shelli That doesn't make me cringe!!!

message 1759: by Sarah (new)

Sarah (sarah23l) Shelli wrote: "Started The Night Circus and The Scarlet Lion....I have 4 books going!!!"

I'm the same way Shelli - I always have several books going at once. Right now I'm reading The Secret History for my local book club and Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets with my kids. On audio I'm listening to The Lady of the Rivers and Belladonna. I'm trying to hurry and read The Secret History because I know once Rules of Civility comes in for me at the library, I'll put everything else aside. to read it.

I'm still working on The Secret History as well.....and...I ordered Rules of Civility from B&N with my gift card!

message 1763: by Jannene (new)

Jannene I just finished The Son of Neptune (Heroes of Olympus, #2) by Rick Riordan . I loved this book. It had a great story and I love how well thought out it seemed to be. I adored the characters and the conflict that they had to endure.

message 1764: by Jannene (new)

Jannene I just finished Naked Heat (Nikki Heat #2) by Richard Castle . Awesome book. I couldn't put it down. The characters are so likeable. I like Rook the best. He always has some funny comment to make. It was better than the first one. I am excited to read "Heat Rises".

message 1765: by Angela (new)

Angela (bookangel2) | 220 comments Finished Rivers of London - really enjoyed that! Now reading Shadows Of The Workhouse by Jennifer Worth - very interesting look about the East End of London, by a former community midwife.

message 1766: by Jim (new)

Jim (jimmaclachlan) I've just started the Ship That Never Was by Mickey Spillane. The tough guy author of the Mike Hammer series actually wrote a couple of YA books, of which this is one. So far it's reading a bit like a Hardy Boys thriller.

Paul Erik Van Schaick (catpau) | 1 comments New True Story account "GREASY VILLAGE" by Paul Erik Van Schaick available on Amazon. Preview & Bio on Book0070.com

message 1768: by Angela (new)

Angela (bookangel2) | 220 comments As well as Shadows Of The Workhouse, I'm also reading Moon Over Soho by Ben Aaronovitch and The Handmaid's Tale by Margaret Atwood. All good:))

message 1769: by Jannene (new)

Jannene I started Fatal Voyage (Temperance Brennan, #4) by Kathy Reichs . It is pretty good so far.

message 1770: by Jannene (new)

Jannene I just finished The Body Farm (Kay Scarpetta, #5) by Patricia Cornwell . The ending was way too predictable. I saw it coming half way through the book. I still liked the story and characters. I do have to say I'm not fond of Kay's relationship with Wesley in this book.

message 1771: by Shelli (new)

Shelli Just started City of Fallen Angels.

message 1772: by Jannene (new)

Jannene I just finished The Killing Game (Eve Duncan Forensics Thrillers, #2) by Iris Johansen . This was a very suspenseful book. I didn't see the ending coming. It was a very fast page turner. I really enjoyed this book. I gave it 5 stars.

message 1773: by Shelli (new)

Shelli I am halfway through Hallowed...

message 1774: by Shelli (new)

Shelli I gave up on the audio of Blood Red Road!!

message 1775: by Kasia (new)

Kasia (kasia_s) Trying to finish the lengthy but great Clan of the Cave Bear.

message 1776: by Doug (new)

Doug Bradshaw I'm really enjoying The Winter Rose. Set in 1900 in London and all about the British biases against female MDs, birth control, etc. Some fun interesting relationships and information about medicine before some Doctors were very hygienic. Well written, sometimes a little melodramatic but that's what authors know that we require these days, isn't it?

message 1777: by Jannene (new)

Jannene I just finished From Potter's Field (Kay Scarpetta, #6) by Patricia Cornwell . Whew! I was so tense reading that book from all of the suspense. It was as if it was happening to me and I couldn't make it stop. I enjoyed this book as the other ones.

I plan on re-reading Cornwell, I read the first four books almost ten years ago and they were wonderful. I also want to start reading Tess Gerritsen, have you tired her yet?

I love Tess! I have read through "The Sinner" which is the 3rd book. I think I'll start Body Double which is the fourth book next month. I'm going to try my first Lee Child book next month too for the book read "The Killing Floor."

message 1782: by Kasia (new)

Kasia (kasia_s) Awesome! I knew she sounded good! I have so many new authors to try this year, Lee Child, Nora Roberts / J.D. Robb … too many books too little time haha

Her first book is great but Maura Isles isn't in it
The Surgeon (Jane Rizzoli & Maura Isles, #1) by Tess Gerritsen . The second one is better than the first The Apprentice (Jane Rizzoli & Maura Isles, #2) by Tess Gerritsen . The third was okay a 3 star The Sinner (Jane Rizzoli & Maura Isles, #3) by Tess Gerritsen . You just talked me into reading Body Double (Jane Rizzoli & Maura Isles, #4) by Tess Gerritsen today! I hear that is better than the first two. Hard to believe since I gave them both 5 stars.

Angela (bookangel2) | 220 comments I'm finishing off The Handmaid's Tale at the moment, and have started Moloka'i. Will also be reading Before I Go to Sleep as soon as I've finished the Margaret Atwood.

message 1786: by Doug (new)

Doug Bradshaw I'm reading a huge thick book with no pictures and tiny print called A Moment in the Sun So far, kind of a tough read. But there are so many great reviews, I'm going to stay with it.

Hi Sarah. Just finished The Last Child and thought it was excellent

message 1789: by Sarah (new)

Sarah (sarah23l) I've heard favorable reviews about The Last Child from several people, which is why I decided to read it, even though it is not my typical genre of preference. Glad to hear you enjoyed it as well!

message 1790: by Angela (new)

Angela (bookangel2) | 220 comments Started Before I Go to Sleep this morning - I'd couldn't find it, so read The End of Everything after finishing my last book.

message 1791: by Shelli (new)

Shelli I just started Black Swan Green and Ender's Shadow and Rules of Civility....should be busy for awhile!

message 1792: by Shelli (new)

Shelli I've also started Clockwork Prince on the kindle.

message 1793: by Gitte (new)

I've read some of his detective novels, the Kensey & Genero (sp?) ones. They're very good. Let me know how you like this one, please.

message 1795: by Karen (new)

Karen (kazzakrisanna) I've just finished The Bones of Avalon by Phil Rickman An excellent book for anyone who likes historical mysteries.
I'm just about to start Soulless (Parasol Protectorate, #1) by Gail Carriger

message 1796: by Jannene (new)

Jannene I just finished P is for Peril. I liked it but not as much as the others. I can tell you I was anxious throughout some of it where she always does her breaking and entering. I just didn't care for the plot, I guess. It just didn't seem as well developed as the others and the ending left me somewhat confused.

message 1797: by Jannene (new)

Jannene I just finished Q is for Quarry (Kinsey Millhone, #17) by Sue Grafton . This book wasn't predictable until you got toward the last 30 or so pages. I knew where it was going by then. It was a good read and kept me engaged. I really liked Stacey and grew to like Dolan. They are really nice gentlemen. As for Kinsey, I hope she ends up really becoming a part of her long, lost family. I'm sure I will see how that develops in the next few books.

message 1798: by Scout (new)

Scout (goodreadscomscout) The last couple of Grafton books have let me down, but I'll keep reading and hoping for better days.

I'm reading A Clash of Kings. Not as engaging so far as A Game of Thrones, the first in the A Song of Ice and Fire series by George R. R. Martin, but I'm only a couple of hundred pages into it, and I plan to read it to the end - and then read the next one. I'm in awe of anyone who can create a world and the characters in it by using his imagination.

message 1799: by Gitte (new)

Gitte (gittetofte) I just started Death of a Salesman by Arthur Miller.

message 1800: by Angela (new)
