Hi Nicky - welcome to Book Lovers!

Jim (jimmaclachlan) I'm going to start the first Quarry book today, Quarry (aka The Broker). Yay! I've read several of them & liked them, but the early ones have been out of print for decades & unavailable even through the swap sites. They've finally reissued them.

message 1404: by Sarah (new)

Sarah (sarah23l) I started Linger today.

Diane (dianedj) I am reading Jamaica Inn. Once again reminded that I love Daphne DuMaurier!

message 1406: by Kerri (new)

Kerri I'm starting Graceling in the morning. CAN. NOT. WAIT. If I didn't have to get up early with kids, I'd start it right now.

I love her books too! Have you read The House on the Strand? I think I read that one nearly 40 years ago and loved it. Recently, I bought Hungry Hill, which is one of the few that I haven't read.

Angela, no I've not read that. I've only read Rebecca; someone else on here is reading My Cousin Rachel, so I will have to check out The House on the Strand too. Did you read Jamaica Inn?

Again, it's one that I read a long time ago, but do remember liking it. Once I "discovered Daphne Du Maurier, I couldn't read enough of her books!

Deborah Shaw (shawbird) | 4 comments Welcome, I am new to this website as well. Currently reading Hot Blooded by Lisa Jackson. Good murder mystery, but just finished The Vintage Harvest by Peter Mayle, fun and easy to read. I am jotting down the books you noted, I have not heard of them. Fun to find new reads! Thanks.

Kerri I've decided to start Wild Swans: Three Daughters of China....it's my "non-fiction" choice for January.....trying to read one a month. Being that it's the 22nd, I'd better get cracking!

I have Vampire Academy, Fire and Rumors all in my house........it's going to be hard to stay focused!

Looks like you have a nice line up, the hardest part is finding the time! I saw you were going to read Graceling, was it good? I finally got it.

message 1444: by Kerri (new)

Kerri Kasia, Graceling was really good......I think Kristin Cashore has something special with the Seven Kingdoms she has created.....I hope she keeps it going. I know she is really struggling with the third one, Bitterblue....she keeps putting off the release date.

Kat (A Journey In Reading) (ajourneyinreading) I currently have 4 going right now. I'm usually a one at a time girl, but for some reason, I am doing 4... and making pretty good progress too!
