Monthly Challenges starts at the 1st of the month and ends on the last day of the month.

* Books must be over 100 pages long.

* But most of all... The amount of books read is up to you..

* Don't want to make you feel pressured in doing all the categories, so pick and choose your amount (or all). Up to you. Have fun.

* Book must be used for 1 (one) individual category, no sharing in order to cross off more than 1 category.

* Books read before this month don't count (unless you've only read less than 25% of the book).

* Books finished on the First of the month do not count, unless you also started reading it on the First or you have read OVER 100 pages on the First of the month.

******************

Please feel free to ask Questions (and comments).

The Yearly Challenges is a little like our Monthly challenges, except the big key rule being that the dates are from January 1st, 2016 to December 31st, 2016.

Please don't hesitate to ask questions, nothing is too small or ridiculous here.

So far so good. I understand that one book cannot count for more than one category in a monthly OR a yearly challenge. Does this mean that any book read for one of the monthly challenges here cannot count toward the yearly challenge?

Karin One more question; does this mean that for the yearly challenge you can ONLY do settings or ONLY do authors for different countries? I don't mind, just want to clarify.

Connie D | 116 comments Can you guys help me out? I finally figured out how to get the bold, underlinings and italics in my Shelfari posts, but it doesn't work the same way in goodreads. How do you get them in goodreads????

Use < > instead of [ ] ... should work fine.

ALSO ... just above the open comment box you'll see a little link
(some html is ok> .... click on that and you'll get a pop-up with instructions for various html codes, including (view spoiler)

Connie D | 116 comments Thanks! The extra html is ok info will be helpful too. I was wondering how people linked in the book covers too. :-) I'll figure details out later, but I don't want to drop out of the fun either.

( I'm still working on fixing my book shelf on just one website before Shelfari and my info disappears.)

Just above the comment box where you are typing you'll see a link add book/author
Click that link and a pop-up box will appear. Type in the name of the book you want, and click search.
At the bottom of the pop-up box you have a choice of
LINK or COVER
Click COVER, then ADD the book you want to link to and you get
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (Charlie Bucket, #1) by Roald Dahl
If the first cover that appears isn't the edition you want, click on Other edition under the ADD button
Then you can select a different edition such as:
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory by Roald Dahl

Terris Thanks for that, BC. Very helpful! (I know the message was for Connie, but I didn't know how to do that either -- I do now!!)

Connie asked a question on the monthly challenge tracker what shelf she should input in order to keep track also.

I first put in how many books i hope to read for this month. And then wrote read (all lower cases) for the shelf.

Our GoodReads bookshelf read is where the shelf is best used as long as your shelf on Goodreads knows when you've read that book.

Thanks, Michelle. For some reason, I didn't think to enter the READ shelf! For some reason, I was thinking it had to be in the other shelf first...
