SOLVED. children's book about birds [s]

Book was available in the 60's. A comprehensive (and correspondingly thick) book about birds. Written by a young rabbit that is interested in birds. He visits various birds and asks them questions about their diet and behaviors. Includes many pictures.

This is the The Burgess Bird Book for Children. I had it as a child and spent a long time trying to figure out the title as an adult!

You got it! I've been looking for it off and on for 10-15 years. I remember Peter Rabbit and Jenny Wren. Most of what I know about birds today came from re-reading that book over-and-over, as a youngster.

You're welcome! I tracked down a used copy on ebay several years ago and it's been fun to revisit it.

I went on Amazon, and the reviews of the recent reprints were poor, with poor type-setting, and no color photos. However a used 1919 copy was available for less $40. So, we'll see what I get. :-)
