i'm looking for a book which is either a mills and boon or harlequin romance where the heroine returns home from france after her father has died to find that he had borrowed money from his friend, the hero,who is a hollywood movie producer and has promised the heroine to the hero in marriage as payment. The heroines mother who was divorced or i think separated from the father was in live with the hero and wanted him for herself. The hero had wanted the heroine from time before she was legal.There was an incident where the hero came to visit the heroines father at Christmas and found the heroine decorating the tree and he hugged her or something, she was still a girl i think around fifteen, when he hugged her he felt desire so he left and never came near her again. please help

I remember this book. Was it not also some misunderstanding because of the mother. The hero said that after he hugged the heroine he started visiting other friends with teenage daughters. I would guess that this is a book by Anne Mather an old one from 1980?
