Task Assignments

Earlier this weekend I made a list of books I'd like to read soon, and these fit my challenge, so I'll pick one of them:The Oncoming Storm, Phasers of Anstractor, The Sorcerer of the Wildeeps
I've gophered my task and I have quite the list of options. I'll wait a bit before deciding on which one I'll read. It would be great if I could combine it with the toppler.
I'd like to be in please! I used the old find/replace trick in Excel - with match case on - and just went from CAPS to lowercase when solving :P
Of the group that I assigned numbers without plugging task 5 into the fruit machine, there are 4 people who never got back to me about which task they'd prefer. I'm not sure if people are maybe not reading this thread once they have their tasks, or what happened. At any rate, those 4 will have to go with their original assignment. I'm not waiting. Please check the task assignments (link is in top message of this page) to make sure which task I have you assigned to, and let me know if there is a discrepancy.

I saw the two options of Friday but wasn't worried about making a decision and I haven't thought about it or been on GR since then. I don't remember what the other option was now, but #4 is fine with me! I'm pretty sure I can find a book to fit that category no problem! :)
Thanks for the great challenge, Janice! I'll gopher when I have more time and let everyone know what I'll be reading.

I'd be interested to hear your thoughts Camilla :)

I didn't have my coffee yet this morning... maybe I needed a snickers bar (not sure if you get that commercial about the snickers bar returning a grumpy person to their normal happy self). Your optional choice was a 5, so if you would prefer a 5, I will change it. I've had a couple cups of coffee and I'm back to my normal happy self.
I'll delay my book selection till Sunday, there is a book exhibition starting the 1st .. And I'm pretty sure I'll get out of there with at least two or three books, so I'll let you know about my choice on Sunday!
R SRXX IJBHRAN TCBG CL BIF: PJI KMCIZThanks that was a lot of fun and this is a subject I have wanted to explore for many many years.
Also sorry I missed your change in task assignments so I stuck with my original one.

Janice,
the puzzle is a great idea (once I actually paid attention to your instructions)
I have several books in very different genres that will fit #2 for me. I'm going to wait to see what I'm in the mood for when it's time to read for this task.
Joan wrote: "Also sorry I missed your change in task assignments so I stuck with my original one."There were only about 10 or so people who were affected by my mistake. For those people, I rolled only numbers 1, 2, 3, & 4 in the fruit machine. It was those people that I re-rolled and added task 5. They then had the option to pick the original roll or go with the second roll.
Once I realized my mistake, I had the right number of tasks in the roll. You weren't affected by my mistake, so you only got one option.

No worries Janice. #4 will require a little more gophering for me than #5 will, so I'll stick with #4. Gophering is at least half of the fun of these challenges! :)
Janice wrote: "Tammy, your task has been assigned - #4."I have decided to read the classic Sherlock Holmes book The Hound of the Baskervilles.
I'm leaning toward reading The Penny Heart by Martine Bailey. Or maybe Robbing the Bees: A Biography of Honey--The Sweet Liquid Gold that Seduced the World by Holley Bishop.
Roz wrote: "I think I'll be going with The Art of Racing in the Rain."I was thinking about reading this one too! It has been on my TBR for years but I've never gotten around to it.
Amanda (Mandy) wrote: "I would like to join. I have been MIA the last few weeks, but am ready to start reading again."You've got task 3, Mandy.

Thank you! I'm going to be reading Icefields
by Thomas Wharton for my assigned task 5These challenges always make me smile when I find a book that fits that I would not have ever found otherwise :)
I started to read Autre-monde - tome 5:Oz (LITT.GENERALE) and I'm nearly halfway through it, it is great so far!

Roz & KimeyDiann I hope you both like it. I really enjoyed the perspective it was written from. :)
@Roz & KimeyDiann - If you do end up reading The Art of Racing in the Rain, don't forget to check out the group read thread for it from a few months back.
