I still don't get what Lucky and Elias' s relationship had to do,with the murder. IMO an unnecessary plot line.

I think they put that in since they are a couple and wanted the readers to know about their relationship.

I knew that Lucky and Elias would end up all right. It did seem like this was unnecessary to the story. On the other hand, the ultimate solution of who-dunnit was certainly not something one could figure out. Especially that Joe wasn't Joe after all. And it was sweet how the pumpkin carving contest turned out.
