Declan followed limping slightly
"I'm guessing you know where we're going...""

Salem smirked. "Have fun."
Declan sighed and walked to a bench patting to the spot next to him"Sit. I'll tell you." he said slowly
Josiah grinned
"Oh I will."
"I'm sure. Are we still going exploring?"

"Good. Cause I still want to."
Declan sighed "What it is, last night I did get into a fight. It was just that it's probably not what you're thinking of as a fight."
"So do I Salem." Josiah nodded "Let's go then."
Dani cocked her head to the side, trying to understand.
Salem laughed. "Well you're my our guide, so you have to lead the way."
Declan sighed"My family, they aren't good people. I wasn't raised to be a good person."
Josiah led her out the back door.
"Alright." he said holding it open "I'll lead."
She nodded as she stepped through. "Duh."
Declan looked at her hating himself more with each word."And for a long time I wasn't. I did things that I'm ashamed of and will regret so deeply for the rest of my life."
Josiah took her hand again"come on Salem." he grinned leading her out into the forest
Dani looked at him and hugged him without saying a word.
"Like I have a choice now," she sighed dramatically.
Josiah rolled his eyes"I'm sure you'll live without this one choice."

Dani buried her face against his chest.
Declan stroked her hair, breathing her in.
Declan closed his eyes against the world
Dani pulled back to look at him. "It doesn't matter, you know."

"Probably. I might just have a bruised ego or something."
Declan shook his head"Actually it does matter."
Josiah laughed
"Maybe..."
Declan smiled a little"I'm glad for that. But it matters to me."
Dani frowned and bit her lip, studying his face carefully.
"I'm not kidding. This is not a joking matter."
DEclan sighed "Sorry." he said
Josiah adopted a serious face
"Sorry."
Declan sighed"For having such big secrets."
Josiah still looked completely serious
Dani shrugged, "We eventually all have them."
She flicked his forehead. "Come on, I want to see pretty Ireland."
Declan noddedJOsiah laughed then
"Yup. I can do that."
"good. Because I was gonna leave if you couldn't."
Declan just held her.Josia looked shocked
"I didn't know I was so easy to leave." he teased
Declan held her, listening to her breathing
"Yeah, you've got a point. Too bad for me, I think I'm in love with you."
Dani just sat there, feeling safer than she had in months.
Josiah nodded"I know that feeling. It's a hard one to get rid of." he said knowingly
Declan was happy she was there with him.
Salem kissed his hand that held hers and nodded.
Josiah smiled and pulled her into the single handed embrace.DEclan kissed her forhead.
