Neha (neha71580) | 451 comments My Second 3-flight experience from Homeland to Not-So-Newland

Wow..that was a weird title, even for me.

So yeah! I'm back to OH-CANADA!

It's been a week actually, but I got a little something-somethin' from my recent trip containing 3 continuous flights. And that something, is EXPERIENCE, which I would like to record for me to read in future..as well as for my friends reading my stupid articles :D (jk I love you guys!)

Here are the rough notes I recorded on my memo [and I'll explain some of my notes in these square brackets]:

- Goodbyeeee Mamma! With not too much tears this time, which is good.

-VIP lounge in Delhi: much better treatment than my first visit.
[ Oh, there are these 'helpers' in the airport to guide you through all the mess like security etc. My mom somehow got an arrangement for me because 'I'm an alone 19 year-old-girl' (what an excuse)]

- ALMOST killed that stupid helper tho
[seriously he was soo lame at some points]

-Aisle seat! *phew* with an elder couple. Eh, not bad.

- 1 or 1 and a half hour of sleep [out of NINE hours] Uuuuuuuuuuggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

- Can't even see London because it's Raining! :(
[Yes folks, my very first time in London!!! And it kind of sucked because I couldn't go out of the airport cuz I had a connecting flight, and there was not point to go out anyway because it was freaking raining!]

- Everything happened RIGHT ON TIME in London. Like..EVERYTHING: bus for terminal change, wandering around tryna find the gate, gate found, toilet and brushing, mamma phoning, and then boarding. Couldn't even like REST!
[I can't believe those were my first 3 hours in London. No wonder Heathrow Airport is one of the busiest airports in the world]

-ALSO, they opened my airbag in London. But they made sure it wasn't embarrassing for me :).

- No idea how I got this much energy tho

-Window seat -_-. Thanks Air Canada! Planning to sleep as soon as the plane is high..

- Wow. Again 2 hours barely. What is WRONG with me?!?!

[I remember that I watched 1 movie in each plane]

-Toronto be lookin HEAVENLY, with 25 degrees and big clouds and whatnot!

-Bag 'pack'

[For the first 2 minutes I forgot why I wrote this, and then I laughed out loud. At that time, it took me 25 minutes (out of 3 hours stop in toronto) JUST TO FIND MY BLOODY BAGS FROM THE THE CONVEYOR BELT!! Dang, I remember how angry and (somehow) full of energy I was.]

- 'waves' above toronto right b4 take off
[I was slightly derailed I must tell you. But imagine light blue clouds at sunset making wave like figures against the orangish sky. For a second I felt like we were inside the transparent ocean. When we took off and went above those wavy clouds it felt straight up like coming out of the water and seeing the orangish sunset light all around. It was truly awesome. Extremely tiring, but awesome.]

Well, that was my 30 hour adventure right there. Honestly, I don't feel like doing it again, but I know I would have to. But that's still 1 and a half years ahead, so let's not worry.

Over and Out!

Haha, I remember as a child I always wanted the window seat. But now I've realized that the aisle seat is so much more convenient.

Neha (neha71580) | 451 comments Walmart Interviewer asks me my favorite book.

Let me start by explaining and giving some background info (I'll try to make the whole journal as short as possible, but you know me :P)

My reason to come almost a month before the University semester in Canada was
1. To find a weekend-part-time job for during semester; to compensate some of my tuition. My tuition, by the way, is THRICE the amount the Canadian students pay. That's not including the residence (because I live with my Uncle, thankfully).

And
2. To get G1 license, which I didn't give last year because *chicken noises in the backgound* I was kinda nervous.

Buuuuuuuuut I COMPLETED THEM BOTH TODAY!!

Of course it took me a whole week to fill out so many part time job applications and stuff. I got a call from Walmart 2 days ago, and that's my very first call. I wonder how many calls am I gonna get, now that I already submitted like TEN applications :P.

Anyway, the group interview was today. They called me at 9 am. Their interview actually got started at 9:15 am (too punctual eh? Still..better than most IRL). We had a group interview with me and 6 other people. The walmart group interview is unlike any group interview I have foreseen (and I have only done one group interview before that..). They kinda made us comfortable, which was good. And then we kinda roleplayed to some situations in teams. I roleplayed a mom twice! They asked us some funny questions too.

*Cue title*
They asked everyone different questions, and when my turn came, something like that happened:

Interviewer: So Nee-ha! Your question is..what is your favorite book?
[BY THE WAY FOLKS. My name is pronounced as Nay-ha. If anyone from goodreads ever called me Nee-ha, I swear to Gods....]

Me: OH! (blank expressions from the inside..dunno whether to laugh or cry at this situation) Um..that's kinda hard to choose for me since I read a lot of novels. Like, a LOT. But, I guess my favorite book series would be the Hunger Games Trilogy.

Interviewer: Oh that's interesting! And..why do you like it?

Me: (cannot interpret what is going on) Umm..it's because I love all the characters. They're pretty strong and...confident. Also, I love the storyline in general. It's actually one of the first series I read, and this series especially got my into reading, so it's special to me.

Interviewer: Alright, very well.

And then they explained us the benefits we'll get while working for Walmart (with no offers to International students, obviously.) And then they asked each of us 3-4 same questions, which is the normal protocol. And then they called each of us one by one into the other room, and for each of us it took at least 20 minutes. I was #6, but I was totally patient. They finally called me and told me that they would like to hire me as a cashier. I just need to submit some extra documents (since I'm Not canadian) and then I'm officially hired. Hooray!!

Now, before all this interview and phone call mess, I was actually preparing for my G1 test for nearly 10 days, I think. I wanted to do my best, obviously. I had already fixed TODAY as my test day in my mind, so I was totes prepared to give it. My Uncle kept chastising me for waiting till Monday but NOPE! I definitely couldn't wait any longer. Practicing same type of questions more than 10 times?? Nah..

So after my interview I went to the Driving Test Center, took my number, and waited for MORE THAN AN HOUR just to get my call. Now I must remind you that I hadn't eaten anything since breakfast, which I did at 7:30 am, and I didn't bring anything with me. It was 12:15 pm when I got my number. I also couldn't go anywhere, but I was still patient. Finally, they called me and I did the whole thing in 20 minutes! And yep, I passed!

By the way, I had no idea that they would take my picture for driving license Today. Gosh, I would be more prepared if I knew! I'm sooo not photogenic. God knows what my pic looks like, because when the lady took it I was only like 60% ready *facepalm*. I will have to see..

Anyway, I don't know what else to say except that I do feel kind of accomplished today. Because now these two major tasks are completed, I can focus on other future tasks to come.

Take care folks,
Over and Out!

P.S. It's soo thundering outside. I can not get a better soundtrack while writing this :D
