The Park Is a very nice place to go and have a picnic near the water front. Its also a good place to go walking. It has a great playground for kids. Enjoy!

Smoke blew into the air as Isla let the smoke blow out of her mouth, a cigarette in her left hand between her index and middle finger. The cigarette hung loosely in her fingers as she sat in the park and playground. She sat on a black swing, her red sneakers dragging across the mulch. Isla's black hair blew in the wind, curling into tangles. Mothers were grabbing their children who were on the playground and swing set, pulling them away from the girl smoking, shooting her a dirty glare too. Isla ignored it. "Fuck them all," she murmured with a slight grin. She watched the passing people in the park; some guy and girl walked side by side with their hands intertwined. Humans. Isla wrinkled her nose in distaste and rolled her eyes. Humans and love. Love. It was just a weakness, it held you back. Isla shook her head, flashing a haughty smirk at some of the people staring at her in shock. Who would smoke in a park full of kids? Especially on the playground? Me, bitches. Isla checked her phone, staring at the date. Three months. Today was the day that made it three months since her mother left her for some human bastard. Stupid, she had to tell herself. Her mother was stupid to leave Isla. For a human. A human. Why? Isla asked herself that everyday. She still couldn't figure out why, and it was eating her away.

If there was one place Emma Davis loved to be during the Fall season, it was at the park. Vermont itself was beautiful in the fall, with the bright leaf captured on trees, the weather, and adorably dressed dogs that littered the Park in the heart of the season, was a perfect fall scenery. Emma had wrapped herself in one of the many presents she had bought herself; a Burberry button down coat. Her knee high boots clicked against the pavement, as she sashayed through the winding paths, careful to not fall, she wasn't the most grace-full of people . A steaming hot latte was held in her gloved hands, bringing her warmth in the cold.

She shook her head, wandering away from the negative thoughts that were permeating in her mind. Instead, she focused on her surroundings, which brought a smile to her lips; she was in Vermont, her home. She slowly sipped on her latte, continuing to walk through the park, when a puff of smoke blew in Emma's face. Waving her hand around her face, trying to get the smoke away from her. Her eyes watering from the awful smell. She looked down at the girl sitting on the bench. A glare plastered on her face.

Isla, clad in dark jeans and a hoodie, continued to smoke her cigarette. She wasn't wasteful, like humans, and smoked the cigarette all the way to the filter. She blew out more smoke, grinning as she noticed the smoke wandering into some girl's face as the redhead passed by. Isla pointedly stuck the cigarette back between her lips, inhaling longer than usual and blowing a bigger cloud of grey into the girl's face. She brought the cigarette down and let a smirk play onto her lips. "Sorry," she said slowly, though Isla was anything but sorry. Her eyes studied the girl before her, who looked indeed very pissed. The girl seemed a few years older than Isla, and her hair was exactly the opposite of Isla's. It was fair and red, and the girl had freckle and pale skin. Isla cheerfully leaned back against the bench, crisscrossing her legs, cigarettes dangling between her lips again.

Emma took a step back away from the girl. Her eyes filled with rage. She could tell my her face expression, and the way she said “sorry” she wasn't really sorry. More like she practiced saying sorry over and over again; so apologizing just came natural to her. Once the smoke cleared, she walked up closer to the girl getting a better look. She looked no older then 16 years old. Her eyes rolled. She put her free hand up, like she was stopping her from saying anything else “ Save it for someone who cares, ” Emma could care less if her apology was sincere or not. She was just more pissed that her beautiful morning walk was destroyed by a young girl. She leaned down, making eye level with the girl. “ you shouldn't be smoking in a place like this, it's way too nice for your trashy habits, because make no mistake, I will destroy you.” As she said that a huge smiled formed on her lips. Emma stood up straight. Inhaling.

Isla raised her black eyebrows after the human girl finished her meaningless threat. Isla's signature smirk formed on her lips. "Well," she said slowly, legs still crisscrossed as she looked up at the human, not fazed or intimidated at all. "That escalated quite quickly, if I do say so myself." She held up a finger, signaling the girl to wait as Isla took another puff of her cigarette. After finishing she continued, her grin still on her face. "I never really understood threats such as "I will destroy you." First, how are you going to destroy me?" Isla mused with a tilt of her head, still looking at the girl with amusement in her eyes. "You going to hide under my bed and kill me in my sleep? Or are you one of those girls who thinks they can ruin my "social reputation"? Oh dear, I guess I really should be terrified then."

ash [ hahah I love her! ]

Emma glared at the girl, this time with even more rage. But, glaring at her won't do anything. If she was lucky and born with super powers she would burn a hole right through that girls chest. But, alas, no such locked stowed upon her. What this girl really needed was a dose of reality. She should not talk down to her superiors like so. But, from her perspective she did start the “ I will destroy you , ” speech. It was meant to scare the girl. Not for her to take it literally. Emma put her finger up, about to speak when nothing seemed to come up. “ Ahh well yo- hmm ” She stopped, thought of another thing. “ But you di-hmm, ” She stopped again. This girl had stumped her. She did not expect this to happen.

[ thank you! ]

Isla smiled lazily. "I often have that effect," she told Emma. "You know, putting people at a loss for words. I mean, look at this." She glanced down at herself with a smirk. "A stunning hoodie, jeans, old sneakers. I'm magnificent." She flicked some ash from her cigarette, taking a closer look at the girl. She looked like she wasn't used to being bested, and she looked pretty pissed about it. "Now that you've realized you can't beat me in a battle of words, I'll introduce myself. I'm Isla," she said pleasantly. "And you?"

Emma put her finger down, then her hand following after; falling down by her side. She had to admit, this girl was clever. But, beating her at her own game, she most definitely wasn't going to allow that to just slide off. Emma couldn't help but grin as she gestured to herself. her golden red eyebrows arched, not long after came a small little laugh. She couldn't help but laugh at her when she called herself magnificent. Even though Emma couldn't tell if her laughing was meant to be insulting or it just meant her giving up. Either way was fine with her. “I'm Emma,”

She tilted her head. "Emma," she echoed the girl's name, trying it out on her tongue. "Interesting." She leaned back on the bench and stretched her legs out on the empty space besides her. Her cigarette had been smoked to the filter and was a mere cylinder stub. She tossed it aside with a distasteful glance and took out a tin can, pulling out another. She wondered with a smirk if the girl, Emma, would try to lecture her on smoking. She didn't seem to be one who gave up easily, but then again, she didn't seem that stupid to pursue the argument and try to beat Isla. She scoffed inwardly. Humans. "Do you have a light?" She asked innocently, partially because she didn't want to search her backpack for her lighter, but mostly just to annoy Emma. Isla loved pushing people's buttons.

Emma raised an eyebrow as she echoed her name. She could tell there was a hint of a mocking tone in her voice. Taking another step back; her heals clicking on the pavement. She pulled her steaming hot latte up to her face and took a small sip of it. Part of the reason why she did that was to get the awful smell of cigarettes out of her nostril. When she noticed this child smoked her cigarette to the filter; she couldn't be more sickened by this girl. “ I'm afraid not; I'm sure you have one of your own, considering you just smoked one. You don't need to leach off others. Don't be lazy and get yours, ” she said, as her nose wrinkled up.

Isla chuckled. "Snappy," she commented with a taunting smile. She shrugged and dug through her backpack with an annoyed sigh, feigning hurt. "We met five minutes ago. Our relationship should be warmer than this, you know. Sharing is caring." She finally found her lighter, a cheap silver metallic lighter from the grocery store. She flicked her thumb at it as she let her new cigarette hang between her lips. A flame appeared and Isla brought it to the end of her cigarette, cupping her hands over the flame as the cigarette lit. She dropped her lighter back into the backpack and took a drag with another lazy grin. "So," she said in a bored tone. "How old are you anyway?"

Emma crossed her arms around her chest. There was no way she was going to get this girl to stop smoking in such a peaceful place. A smirk lingered on her lips and watched her dig through her bag looking for her own lighter. Emma, being the control freak she was. She wasn't going to have any luck with this one. She was way too stubborn. Reminded her of herself. “ Huh.. ” she exhaled out of her breath. “ Like I said; I don't have a lighter. Even If I did. I wouldn't give it to you. I'm not the sharing type, ” She pushed her shoulders up and cocked her head to side; giving off a oh well Impression. Emma sighed; placing down her latte on the bench beside Isla ; as she scooted herself on the bench as well. If this girl wanted to make small talk then so be it. Its not like she had anything better planned. “ I'm twenty. And you? ”
