Zombie? YA? Paranormal? It's all of 'em and I can't remember the title

Okay, driving me nuts that I can't remember the title. I read a sample on iBooks and I should have tagged it. Oh well.
Anyway, the book opens with 4 teens - 3 boys, one girl - hiding from some bad guys. They're not gonna get out of the situation so one of the boys decides to stand up and try to negotiate out of it. The girl has a sudden flash, seeing the boy get shot. Naturally she freaks when it actually happens. The shot, of course, attracts zombies so that was the massive distraction that allowed them to escape. The girl starts to see the future more often.

Chapters go back and forth between that group and a woman who's been wandering the zombie wasteland alone and comes across a fortified town that seems safe. She has discovered that she has develpoed superhuman hearing and she uses it to spy on the guy that runs the town. He, on the other hand, seems to be interested in anyone that has developed supernatural powers. We don't learn much else about that for a while, but clearly a plot development.

Through some flashbacks, we discover that the two girls are sisters. Super hearing girl was off at college when the zombie apocalypse hit, that's why they were apart. Parents are dead...don't remember how mom died, but dad was a casualty of the undead, younger daughter heard the gruesomeness on the cell phone. That was actually a pretty gripping scene.

Anyway, those are the kind of major things I remember. It wasn't fantastic writing, but it was entertaining and I've been doing as much searching as I can with no luck.

Holy cow that was fast! Yep, that's it. Looks like the sample I read was apparently from "The Ascension" group.
