Ozdog | 1 comments i read this book sometime between 2004-2006. It is set in a world where people have chips implanted into their arms at birth which they use for a number of things such as ID, access to bank accounts, etc. The plot revolves around two protagonists, one male and a female.

The male is from a normal family, having had a chip inserted in his arm as a child he lives a normal life, going to school on his "terminal" etc. He is also a hacker of some sorts.

The female is from some underground place. She does not have a chip in her arm (considered weird by normal people). instead she has a contraption which she wears on her arm. The contraption allows her to steel from people by tricking machines she is them if she manages to get some of their DNA.

I don't remember much else other than they meet up and have to save the world from a computer virus.

Does anyone know it?

Sarah Heartsdale (sarahheartsdale) | 59 comments It sounds like something that Cory Doctorow could have written, but none of his works seem to fit the description. A quick online search turned up Unchipped.
You could also check out this collection and see if your book is featzured there: Hackers.
