Yes I no....Its bc he feels that u can have no great romance without tragedy....i read it in one of his interview he had...bc i was like what is wrong with this dude??? But his newer movies usually have been wrapped up nicely....Last Song even though sad was finished well....Safe Haven although sad finished well...The Longest Ride pretty good and Notebook (ahhh i love it) although sad.....
I've only watched The Notebook, The Last Song and The Best of me. The Best of me could've had a better ending, but it was still pretty good besides that. You don't need tragedy to have a good romance movie :(. My goodness XD. I think he's trying to depress us XD.

I was a complete mess by the end of The Fault in our Stars too XD.
I was a mess halfway through hahaha...first time watching:
it was kinda amusing bc we got to the part where they were going on their date and I just started crying...mums like "honey why are u crying? It's not even sad yet" and I'm like "but...but I know what's coming" and I just started crying harder lols (bc i had already read the book)
