SOLVED. YA Sci Fi. Male Character named Angel. [s]

I read a young adult sci fi/fantasy type book at least ten years ago, probably closer to fifteen, and I remember it being old even then. The main character was female but there was also a male character named Angel. They both ended up on a foreign planet to save it or do something important and fell in love but something about the planet was Angel's legacy and he had to stay behind when she went back to earth. The book had tones of untouched nature and danger but that's all I remember...

SOLVED: I found it! It took this many years, but I found it. For anyone still looking, the book is "The Dream of the Stone" by Christina Askounis.
