My Number 1 question: is it OK for an Inkshares author who is below pre-order target to put their book up on Goodreads?

The Goodreads terms for writers seem to prohibit writers listing books that are not at least in the process of being published. Inkshares "funding" status - can we really argue that it meets the criteria? It would be great to be able to put our books up here, as Goodreads could be a huge source of readers for our campaigns. Inkshares desperately needs more readers IMO.

Other do's and don'ts could be useful!

Question: what is the effective way to promote my book?

Answer: we don't know. Email lists are pretty neat for conversion rates, but according official Inkshares stats, it's Facebook that are more effective.

According to some successful Inkshares writer, it's better to do this in person. Gary Whitta had used paid advertisement and are famous in his own right even BEFORE writing abomination.

So yeah, some may work for you, some may not. Some finds handing out cards and flyers effective, some...not so much.

Find your own path. We don't know, but pick our brain anyway. We(probably) know everything when combined.
