I donated the book to my elementary school, I'll try to go to my old school and find it.
I just went to my old school it looks like the book was given away, one of the teachers said a teacher who left might have taken the book with her. The teacher who left still goes to my church, I'll check with her.
Road Kill by S.R. Martin? (I came across topic on abebooks: http://forums.abebooks.com/discussion... I was thinking there was similar topic here, too, but reading it now it's not so similar: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/... and I found this in the search :)

In the book, a kid (pretty sure a boy) is riding in the back seat of a car with his family and drops something. He unbuckles his seatbelt to pick it up, and when he looks up again he sees that a kangaroo has suddenly appeared in the road and his family hits it, sending him through the windshield I think and into the road. (I think there's something about him being the only one to see the kangaroo? I can't remember.) After this the book gets weird, I think he can't find his family again or they disappear or something. At some point he's unconscious and awakens to find himself being dragged into a cave by a bunch of small aliens. This is about all I can remember about the book.
If anyone can help me find out what this book is, I'd really appreciate it as I'd love to read it again. I just have this weird feeling associated with it and I'd like to either confirm that it was bizarre or reread it and find out it's not haha.
