Carol She's So Novel꧁꧂ Link regarding pronunciation of Heyer - originally found by Courtney. Article comparing GH to some of her contemporaries like Dorothy L Sayers also very interesting.

Jacquie Scuitto | 261 comments Very interesting article I have read three of the four authors, Heyer (of course!) Sayers and Thirkell. Have any of you read Thirkell's books? I adored many of her characters -- Miss Morland, Lydia Keith, the many servants and the Mixo-lydians. She had so many good characters who came and went in the various books and aged appropriately. A wonderful world with delightful town and village names!

No I haven't although I have heard of her & Stevenson. Sayers I read but didn't like many years ago. I am wanting to give Sayers another chance & have found one of my area libraries does carry a couple of her titles.

Lori Mulligan Davis | 196 comments Dorothy L. Sayers is one of my favorite authors. I am blessed to live in the same town as the Marion E. Wade Center, which holds a vast collection of Sayers's letters and other research materials. They occasionally host the Dorothy L. Sayers Society's Annual General Meeting. Even if you don't want to read all the Lord Peter Wimsey novels, the Harriet Vane novels are interesting. I wish Lord Peter were my constant friend. He is so engaging.

I only knew that C.S. Lewis was collected at the Marion E. Wade Ctr. Lucky you to live so close to such treasure!
