"What do they consider witchcraft these days?"

"A witchcraft they can't kill. That's funny," he said with a slight chuckle.
"I laugh at misfortune, Miss Sparks," he said, scoffing at the remark.

Caerwyn said nothing. He didn't want to encourage her any further.
He complied, but he wanted to apologize, but his ego and lack of empathy won over.

"I don't understand it at all," Caerwyn said, kicking one of the signs.

"Crazy bastard," Caerwyn said under his breath and walking inside.

Caerwyn looked around while waiting, noticing strange things around the room. Empty and even filled flasks, dead rats, multiple burn marks on the floor, and a shattered on the right side of the room.

"That seems a little quick, don't you think?" He lifted up his hands and slowly took off his helmet, revealing the bony rotted form of his face.
Caerwyn took a deep breath. "I battled against an Immortal foe. Death."

"Stupid?" He said. Then he started to chuckle, which turned into a laugh, then a full on cackle. "It was not stupid, 'Jeb'. Death was my only way of absolution. Death was my destined enemy. For who would be blessed more than the Man who conquered Death?"

Caerwyn smirked, then with a speed inhuman, drew his sword and pointed it at Jen's throat. "Tell me, if no man can conquer death, then why is it that I have been stabbed, shot, shocked, and burned and still stand here before you?"

Caerwyn threw his sword so it impaled the wall next to Cassandra's head. Then he turned back to Jeb. "30 years? I've been locked up for 64 years. And I have no 'ego.' I have endured greater pain than you could imagine, you spinless fool. And I have half a mind to not cooperate. I've been to Hell once. I can get there again."

"You'll eat those words." He relaxed his muscles and just smiled.

Caerwyn began tapping the arm rest of the chair. "If I hadn't been locked up for so long, I'd say you have a crush on that there Cassandra."

Caerwyn set down his sword, stood up, and walked over to Jeb. He held out his hand for a handshake. "Maybe I was a little over my head earlier. Could you forgive me?"

Caerwyn scowled. "What is it?"

Caerwyn sighed. "I give you my word, and my word is my bond."

Caerwyn glanced at the paper, and his eyes widened. Never had he seen an alchemical recipe so complex. It didn't just require herbs. It required rare crystals found in across the world and in the deep ocean. He looked back at Jeb. "How do you expect we make this?"

Caerwyn walked over to his sword and picked it up, staring at his reflection. His skull was in complete view but rotting flesh still hung from it. Same with the rest of his body.

Caerwyn turned to her. "What happened to you?"

"Well, yes." He held it out to her. "I'll let you decide if you'd like to take the trip."

Caerwyn threw his hands up. "I'd kill myself if I could."
