It was hard to choose the top 4 this time. I have the feeling that it's getting more and more difficult to choose each time, because the suggestions are so good. Am I the only one who is already super excited to pick out the books for the 2016 Challenge? I have to hold back to not pick out the books for the topics which are already choosen :D
I'm excited too, Aline! It's going to be fun doing the 2016 Challenge as I've been playing catch-up with this year's one and trying to pick books that I already own, can borrow from friends or my local library. Financial constraints have meant that I've had to cut my actual book-buying to almost zero.As it's my birthday in October and then Christmas before the Challenge starts I plan to use the money and book vouchers that I'm lucky to be given on buying books for the Challenge. It will be bliss to browse bookshops again.
I really liked 10 of these so it made choosing a top 4 really hard. I'm hoping at least a few of those make the cut. I'm excited about next years challenge too. I've ready started making a list of possible books for each topic. I'm going to try to do it mostly with books I already own but a couple of the topics will probably require buying a few new ones. Yay for thriftbooks!
I'm looking forward to choose books for my 2016 plan too.
For this batch, I'm interested in 10 of the topics. Some others will be really too much out of my comfort zone.

So awesome to hear that you guys are excited too! Next years challenge will surely be as fun as this year's :)
Hehe, i've already been picking books for some of the topics that have won so far. I may change some, but I want to have a rough draft ready at least before making my final decisions.
There were some really good topics in this poll! I think that more than 20 topics per poll makes the choice even harder, though.
Most of these topics I would be completely happy with and even the ones I don't like as much are still ones that I wouldn't mind for a challenge! Next years challenge list is going to be great!

I don't know about anyone else but I usually find the first six or seven easy to rank, and the last few, but the rest just end up left where they fall in the middle.
That said, it's impossible to please everyone, and thanks Laura for being so patient & for doing such a fantastic job organising all of this for us. :)
Most of these topics I thought were great/creative choices and some felt a lot like repeats from the current challenge.

Yes, thank you Laura. You are doing a great job!
Not a problem, Sophie and Jennifer. It's exciting for me to see the list coming together!
So far I've resisted the urge to build a list mainly because I changed this year's about 30 times. I know it would just be worse if I started it now :p But I'm sure that will be a winter break activity for me.

I'm probably crazy but I made my 2016 list already (attached to the 2015 list). I'm sure I'm going to change most of those too, but I couldn't help myself.
I will probably start compiling my list around thanksgiving. Next year I am definitely keeping tally marks of how many times I make changes!!

You're definitely not alone Ana - I've already started a new spreadsheet for next year's challenge and have slotted in books for about 3/4 of the topics already. No doubt by the end of next year absolutely zero of them will still be there. :)
I already have a list started on my phone for next years books. I've been voting based on the options I have for each category. Some of the categories I have narrowed down to one choice and some still have quite a few I haven't decided from yet.
We're going to act as the devil's on everyone's shoulders until they give in to the temptation of starting their lists already!
Same for me , since I'm slowly cutting down my kindle TBR which is still over 200 and some books ,think I'll go start a list right now.i'm going to put up a book shelf for 2016 reads.
The 2016 folder will be available as soon as we have the final list. Now stop planning your list and go to finish your books for the 2015 challenge :p
In the meanwhile I couldn't resist and started to add books to the 2016 list too :D I have about 3/4 planned. But I'm allowed to, I'm nearly finished with my 2015 list :P
You all make me want to start my list! I'll try to wait til I've finished the books for 2015 but I'm not sure I can resist the temptation ;)
I've been dragging on my last 7 for 2015. It's not helping that I'm really excited about 2016's list.
I've only got three books left for the 2015 challenge, and I'm reading two of them now, so I'm definitely working on next year's list! I need to make sure I don't read anything between now & then that I want to use for the challenge.
After I finish the last 30 pages of The Neverending Story I will be down to 10 books remaining for 2015. I'm planning mine for 2016 now so I don't pick any of them up in December when I've finished my challenges.

I already have my list for next near. The only ones I haven't selected yet are the "to read" ones and the book mentioned in another book.
Wow, now I want to get started on my list for 2016 too! The thing is though that I would actually like to repeat the 2015 challenge for 2016 AND do the new challenge we're putting together... I have so many second and third choices left on my list!
This one is going to hard, not hard like I can't do it,but hard like I've got so many books that would fit in more than them.take the first one a book that's title beings with the same letter as your first name? I found out I have like four or five that would fit under that. Anybody else having trouble picking their books.
Elizabeth wrote: "This one is going to hard, not hard like I can't do it,but hard like I've got so many books that would fit in more than them.take the first one a book that's title beings with the same letter as yo..."It's easy! Just pick any book now, and when it's time to read, just switch it to what you really feel like reading at the moment. That's what I did for this year, and I think it's fine. The goal is just to read more, so it shouldn't matter that much if what I read wasn't what I planned at the start.

I had to start putting my list together. I was feeling pretty ambivalent about next years challenge because there doesn't seem to be a lot of diversity in the topics, and so many of them are so similar. At a few points in time I had even considered not participating next year. Since I have started to build my list I feel like my excitement is returning and I am really looking forward to what is being built.

How polls will work:
The topics for the 2016 RC list will be determined through 13 mini-polls. Each user will vote for their favorite 4 topics in each mini-poll, which will then add up to the 52 topics (13 polls x 4 topics/poll=52 weekly topics).
Seventh poll:
Voting ends September 13 at 8:00am EST
Rules:
- One vote per poll per user
Now that we are over halfway done with the 2016 list, I am including the current themes in the comments. Please take a look at how your votes would fit in with these topics.
