This is a tough one! I went through my TBR to find books that might fit, then compared the locations to the list you provided...now I have 9 books that I am trying to narrow down for a nomination! That's what I get for looking at my TBR. lol
Damn, I forgot to include one of my all time favourite acts in recent years.
Ladies and Gentleman, I give you The Russian Grannies

Checked my TBR and approximated 0.0032% of the books on my list take place in our world.Sitting this one out. Haha!
Alycia - I had it narrowed down to 2 for a while. I ended up going on Amazon and reading the first few pages of each. That is what finally made my decision!
I've been trying to compare to some of my challenges, too, to see if I can get some knocked off! Lol
So, I am nominating a book that is probably not set in Europe and has nothing to do with the Eurovision contest, simply because our dear Moderator Lynn read it and gushed on how good a read it is, and now...I sooooo want to read it!! I am talking about The Sweet Gum Tree by Katherine Allred. Besides there is one book by Milan Kundera which isThe Unbearable Lightness of Being that has already been nominated currently part of my TBR list.
Heh Virginie, as I said in the other thread The Sweet Gum Tree won't qualify for this month's nominations. You'll have to be patient and wait for next month's nominations :)

So normally I don't nominate but I've decided to introduce you to a book I read it earlier this month for a challenge where you had to read a book who's author lives or has lived in the same city / town as you do.
- Set in the wonderful city I live in, York (England > United Kingdom)

So, since my nomination has is now for next month, I will go with France with The Family: A Novel by Tonino Benacquista.

Kristen- I got it on amazon last December for cheap and started reading it just last night. It's a lovely book so far!

The Shadow of the Wind by Carlos Ruiz ZafónSetting: Spain"
One of my top ten favorite books of all time!!
The shadow of the Wind is also one of my favorite books of all. Being German, I'd like to nominate something German, but it seems like all my favorite books or the ones I'd still want to read haven't been translated. If it was August, I'd nominate Look who's back by Timur Vermes.
Since that one won't come out in time, I'd like to nominate Turkey: Orhan Pamuk (Istanbul)

A couple of links to explain the craziness of it all here and here for all you who have no idea what this is.
For this month's nominations we are looking for books where the setting is in one of the participating countries of the Eurovision Song Contest. You can find a list of those countries here (you need to scroll down the page a little for the list).
- Please include the chosen country of the book with your nomination.
Your nomination will not count if this is not included.
- Please make sure to include book link or book cover link. This can be done by clicking on the 'add book / author' link above the comment box. If not possible (because you're using the mobile app), then make sure you inlcude both book title and author.
Your nomination will not count if not in either of these formats.
- Please refrain from nominating any book that has already been a group read or scheduled to read as part of the Goodreads Choice Award Book Club. These can be found at https://www.goodreads.com/group/books...
- Please do not nominate a second (or later) book in a series read. Your nomination will be not counted if you do.
- Only one nomination per person will be accepted.
- Nominations will close on Sunday 23rd, 5pm GMT and will be followed by a poll.
