In your opinion is book 2 necessary to read before book 3 or will I be okay to follow it. Book 1 ended right when it was getting good again and I really just want to continue with Matt and Evan.

I read book 2. I've re-read this series 5x. I have NEVER read book 2 again. i skip it each time and will continue to do so.

Have a great week-end!

I am excited for the new theme to be announced. This week was kind of hectic for me. RL kind of ruined my reading, I was on call and because it's my first year, I am still stressed. Hope to have a better reading experience next week.

sounds like so much fun. I would love something like.
Have fun Debbie

Have a great weekend."

Review:
I love to read Colleen Hoover books, they always stir a reaction in me. I loved the writing, it was beautiful and I really liked to read from Tate and Miles perspectives. But because Miles point of view was his past I didn't found out how he really felt for Tate in the present. And Tate I didn't understand her reasons for staying so long with Miles. Their relation felt toxic and unhealthy. But I loved Cap and even Corbin, he felt realistic in his action. I liked this book but I can't say this is my favorite Colleen book.

Week 2: Bookcover - No people on the cover--Option 1

Book: Gus by Kim Holden
Page Number: 389 pages
Qualification: Should be obvious :D
Rating and Review: ★★. I feel bad but I didn't enjoy this book. It was slow and boring and just depressing. In all fairness, we knew Gus was devastated by the loss of his best friend. But in this book, I see that he is mourning not just his friend, but the woman he was in love with. So for the first 60% of the book, it was a front row seat to Gus' pain. Then he starts coming out of the funk and kind of becomes friends with his personal assistant Scout.
Scout reminds me of Kate (Bright Side) but without her optimism. But Gus responds to her need and a friendship slowly forms. The last 20% a relationship is thrown together but I didn't really warm to it. I am just so happy to not hear about their constant pain. I think the writing was okay but it was just a drag for me.

In the future there are two kinds of people, the Silver – people with magic abilities, the kings and the gods, and the Red – the slaves, the help.
Mare Barrow is seventeen year old, a Red. But she isn't just a Red. She had an ability to control lightning, the ability of a Silver.
Prince Cal is the beloved son of a king. The son of the first queen, the one that king actually loved. He is the golden boy, the warrior, the future king.
Prince Maven is the one in the shadow, the second, the less powerful. The son of the current queen.
In the palace Anyone can betray anyone.

Craving Beauty
Rating: ★★★
Overall this was an okay story. I liked the beauty and the beast plot going on, it's one of my favorites. My one problem was, in the first half I kept wanting to yell at the main characters to talk to each other. However, once they did start communicating I really enjoyed it.

Review:
Born in Ice is the second book in the Born In series by Nora Roberts. This book could have easily been a stand- alone since enough background information is given from book 1. Brianna Concannon lives a simple life owning a Bed & Breakfast in Ireland. Brianna is a simple woman living a simple life. When the harsh winds of winter descend upon her, she is faced with another winter alone, which is fine with her. However, this year she has a guest from the US who plans on staying in order to be left alone to write his book. Mystery writer Grayson Thane has a painful past and feels that he is not worthy of a relationship. However, sometimes a fire can be born in ice…
I was not sure how I would like this book and frankly, have put it off. However, once I began reading this, I thoroughly enjoyed it. I loved the background of Ireland. Ms. Roberts is extremely detailed in her descriptions and is one of my favorite go to authors. I am looking forward to book 3.

I thought this was cute. I liked the enemies to friends to lovers aspect of the story. My heart ached for both Hannah and Garrett. Neither one of them had a stellar existence growing up. I enjoyed the resolution of his story in this book, but hers...I felt like there was stuff left undone.
I am hoping to see more of them in future books, I'm definitely going to continue on with the series.

Review:
After I finish reading a book I like to get on GR and read all of the spoilery discussion to find maybe another person who felt the same way as me about the book. I am surprised but after reading 2 pages of reviews I couldn’t find a single person who gave it less than 4 stars.
Moving on this book was meah for me. If I wouldn’t had to read it for this challenge I would DNF. This was a friends to lovers story but I have no idea how they became friends. And the drama just kill the story for me. TOO MUCH DRAMA. I still enjoyed the banter but this was king of let down for me.

Book: Double Play by Jill Shalvis
Rating: 3 1/2 stars Finished 09/30/15
Review:
I have really grown fond of Jill Shalvis’ writing style. I have read several of her books and have thoroughly enjoyed them. Double Play was a quick and easy read. The first half was really good and kept my interest, but the second half was not a ballpark winner for me. I put this book down several times before finally finishing it. I enjoy going to the Braves games since I do live outside of Atlanta so I thought that I might enjoy this book. Perhaps, this would be a really good beach read.
Pitcher Pace Martin is facing early retirement with an injury, and Holly Hutchins is a reporter writing a blog that she is no longer interested in. Paired together when Holly was forced to write a story on The Pacific Heat, Holly has come to realize that there is much more to Pace. Pace is a generous man, while I felt that Holly was often times a nag.
I am not sure if I will read Slow Heat (book 2) in this series. Apparently, there are only 2 books in this series, and the second one was written in 2010.

Rating & Review:★★★★. Definitely one of the best GFY books I've read all year. The story was tight. The focus stayed on the two best friends as they navigated the rough terrain of BF turned lovers.
I loved Jamie Canning's steady and unwavering friendship and felt sorry for Ryan Wesley as he struggled with meeting the expectations of others.
Something about this book reminded me of Brokeback mountain, but with much more honesty and acceptance since the time period was different. I just wish I enjoyed Hockey enough to appreciate the references to the sport.

Game For Love by Bella Andre

Rating: ★★★★
This story is the equivalent of cotton candy. It was a super sweet and cute story. The plot was a little ridiculous, but the two main characters make it work. I was hesitant to read this, I hated the first book in the series, but this one more than made up for the other one.

So sad to see them go, but they went out the way the came in, guns blazing with chemistry galore. I have to admit, though, this one was VERY slow for me in the beginning and I put the book down more than once because I couldn't get into it.
But once it got going I was fully invested in the world of Ty & Zane again. There was so much happening in this one, so many loose ends to tie up. I just loved the way everything came full circle. I'm still reeling from some of the revelations, but enjoyed it all the same.
I can't believe this is the end. I really hope to see them in the spin off series. I just can't think of a world with no new Ty & Zane antics.

Grace, I don't want to spoil things but in
In fairness, they were on a break and I think Matt was trying to figure out if Evan was a fluke or if he as attracted to men as he is attracted to women.
You also have to remember Evan had Helen, Vic and even his kids. Matt had NO ONE and was so lonely. He had started getting attached and boom, he was let go. He was just hurt and lonely and needed comfort.
**Come and lay your head on my bosom, Matt Haight. (hide spoiler)]
Re Evan's freak out: He is a police officer, that wasn't really acceptable. (view spoiler)[ Plus he had been married with kids, so it would make collegues question if he had been faking it all this time, what else are you hiding?
Plus, what if his in-laws tried to take his kids from him. It wasn't that long ago that gay love was considered "Deviant behavior" and such a relationship would be deemed unsafe for young ones.
We find out later that his kids are being teased at school, so Evan's concern is warranted.
I love this series minus everything Jim and Griffin. I have never clicked with them (hide spoiler)]["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>
