Ok im really sad that they got separated at the end but when elide was like...i hope we meet again i was screaming OTPOTPOTPOTP and crying cos i don't think that its gonna happen

What do you think the chances are of Elide making it all the way to Terrasen without drawing on the power of the key?

Honestly I think Elide is going to encounter a lot of obstacles. It would be a MIRACLE if she made it there without trouble. What I am interested to see is if she will be stronger now that Magic is free, like if she will somehow be able to access her IronWitch blood!
I guess I'm a little worried for her. I dont want her to turn into a victim character that seems to always need saving. I'm hoping we'll see a little more bravery and cunning as she has a chance to grow into her own. I'm not expecting any Aelin bada$$ery from her,but I think she has the potential for either complete helpless misery or a quiet cunning that will knock your socks off.I'm worried about the former, but hoping for the latter obviously

Jess, that's a good point. I definitely don't want this kickass Manon that we know to turn into a weakling just because she 'found her heart', or whatever. I want her to grow into a strong but merciful person, distinct from, yet similar to, Aelin. I really like Manon overall, and I can't wait to see how she develops.

Barring her being taken hostage at the outset, traveling through the forest and the mountains, alone, should give her time to come into her own.
Dawn, this might not be too important, but I also want to add that I don't want Elide's journey and POV to be realllllly boring in the next Throne of Glass book, because walking through the woods all alone until she gets to... wherever she's going, could be a not-so-interesting trip. On the other hand, it could be really exciting too. Anyone else have this fear?
There are so many ways for Elide to make a solo journey (partially, at least) through the forest/mountains. She could encounter a random Valg patrol/transport, giving her an opportunity to spy or rescue, maybe the odd animal hunting her, all the while learning survival skills, bandits, Lorcan, etc. SJM is far too good and clever a writer to have Elide's expedition be boring to read.
Yep, I don't really doubt her, it's just that after HoF (which was reallly boring until like page 450, as far as the witches went), I'm a little worried. Not hugely, though1
I'm thinking it like 90% chance Lorcern will find Elide on her journey.

I've literally only just met Elide in Queen of Shadows but I'm already really enjoying Manon and Elide's relationship. I don't know if I ship it, but I like them as friends.
It would be an interesting ship, but i get the feeling that Manon is going to be dating Dorian. It would be an interesting idea - having an ironteeth witch for a queen of Adarlan. I can only imagine Dorian's mother's reaction :)
Nooooo! Manon needs to stay away from Dorian. I don't care who Manon ends up with as long as it's not Dorian.

I can only imagin..."I couldn't believe that Manon and Dorian would end up together. They would clash and it would be a terrible ship. She has no interest in Adarlan and it says so in the book. I feel that her story in the forthcoming books will veer far away from Adarlan and she'll go to the Wastes instead.

Yes, but he needs to get out of his brooding stage and be himself again. And even if he stays #DarkDorian, I don't feel Manon is helping. I ship Manon and Asterin, actually. They could be bisexual.
But Manon and Asterin are cousins so don't you think that's a bit weird?
I honestly shipped Manon and Elide over Lorcan and Elide, mostly because I don't like Lorcan.
