Rachel | 3524 comments Please post all comments/updates/questions about the Fall 2015 Reading Challenge in this thread. :D

The Fall 2015 Reading Challenge will start September 7th and end November 30th, 2015.

Rules of the challenge:

Read 3 books (or more)
Complete 3 tasks (or more)
Books can be any genre
Re-reads are okay

So this fall, complete 3 (or more) of the following:

1. September 10th is World Suicide Prevention Day.

So this fall:

READ A BOOK THAT DEALS WITH THIS TOPIC

2. October 4th is Change a Light Day which is a campaign to change to energy efficient light bulbs to help the environment.

So this fall:

READ A BOOK WITH THE WORD "LIGHT" IN THE TITLE

3. October is Photographer Appreciation Month.

So this fall:

READ A BOOK THAT HAS PHOTOGRAPHS

4. October 31st is Halloween.

So this fall:

READ A BOOK WITH THE LETTERS

T-R-I-C-K

OR

T-R-E-A-T

IN THE TITLE (THESE LETTERS DO NOT HAVE TO BE IN ORDER)

5. November is National Memoir Writing Month.

So this fall:

READ A MEMOIR

6. Many talented authors celebrate their birthdays in the fall.

So this fall:

READ A BOOK BY ONE OF THE FOLLOWING AUTHORS:

ANNE RICE-October 4th

JIM BUTCHER-October 26th

NEIL GAIMAN-November 10th

CHARLAINE HARRIS-November 25th

7. Random task-This task counts towards the challenge but is not inspired by the season.

Last season the task was to read a "first" so this season the task is to read a "last"

So this fall:

READ THE LAST BOOK IN A SERIES

OR

READ A BOOK FROM THE LAST PAGE OF YOUR GOODREADS TBR

HAVE A HAPPY AUTUMN, EVERYONE! :D

Question on task #1: Does the book have to deal with "Suicide Prevention" or just Suicide in general. I don't have any particular book in mind yet, but am curious and wanted to clarify.

doesn't have to be prevention-the book just has to discuss it in general.

Christine | 798 comments I finished my first book, Just Kids. I have to admit I started it for the summer challenge as a book with a musician in it. I didn't get it done but thankfully it fit as a memoir. Its a beautiful book.

Truth and Beauty by Ann Patchett

I am hoping to read Truth and Beauty by Ann Patchett. This would meet both task #4 and task #5 :-)

Natalie | 3 comments This season challenge sounds great, I read Easy by Tammara Webber Easy (Contours of the Heart, #1) by Tammara Webber a few years back and this deals with the issue of Suicide, I have also been waiting to read her second book Breakable Breakable (Contours of the Heart, #2) by Tammara Webber which is Lucas POV so should bring this subject up again!
Currently readin Shadow of Night, which is great for Halloween, it's just a shame there isn't and 'L' in that title!
Will have to look through my other TBR list to see what else I can read for this challenge!
Happy reading and happy Fall xx

Welcome Natalie. These seasonal challenges are a fun way to read books we might not otherwise get around to reading. Hope you have fun!

I've only read one other book by French, In the Woods. I think it was the first one. I think her writing is very good but always about 50 pages too long. I get bored towards the end.

Christine, I read The Likeness (book two in the series) by Tana French and I'm planning to read In The Woods next. I read book two first because it was lent to me by my boss. I was really impressed with French's writing and narration. I am looking forward to reading more in the future :-)

Rachel | 3524 comments finished The Dead Girls of Hysteria Hall The Dead Girls of Hysteria Hall by Katie Alender -works for task 1 and also has t-r-e-a-t in the title

A teenager inherits her aunt's house and she and her family decide to go there for the summer-the fact that the family decides to stay there after they find out it's an abandoned mental hospital is silly but once you get past that, the book is a really fun read.

Hope the next book in the series is better.
