Ichigo is out on a hot date with her 'crush' when suddenly she's involved in an odd incident in which her DNA is merged with the DNA of an almost extinct wildcat. When four other girls' DNA is merged with the DNA of four other almost extinct animals, it's apparent that they're part of a much bigger plan. Ichigo and her friends have been chosen to become a part of a secret project called the "Mew Project." Their mission: To protect the planet from aliens who are using the planet's animals to attack humans.

Aurora In my opinion, I think the anime handled the meeting of the girls better but of course, manga has less filler.

This was quite literally my first manga. I had read the westernized Sailor Moon comics back in the day, but this is the first manga I actually read in proper backwards format. It was the beginning of a very slippery slope... and the mountain of manga by my bed.

I sadly have never watched the anime. I was excited when the dub came out back in the day, but then... Zoe?! Heart crushed once again by 4Kids.

One of these days I'll get around to watching the original Japanese. After I get through CCS. ;)

Deysig94 (near94) I like how their names have food meaning. Ichigo(stawberry) , Mint

So who's you're favorite character of the bunch? I've always been a Pudding fan lol

Aurora I like Mint. Yeah, she can be a bit snobby but she's still a caring person. (A lot like me, now that I think about it...)

Heather (cagalli1543) | 2 comments I read this series when Tokyopop first released it and I thought it was adorable! I then bought it and reread it when the omnibus editions were released. I still think it's cute, but it was a short series and I feel they could have done more with it.
