Combining author page and user account: Josi Russel (new author)

I just added a new book by new author Josi Russell and now there's a profile page for her and a separate author page. Can someone combine them for me?Josi RussellCaretaker

I guess her user account could be upgraded to an author account and the new author page created when posting the book deleted?

Also, how to keep this from happening in the future. I work with a publisher and should know this stuff. :)

The author has to apply herself to claim the Goodreads Author Profile if she wishes. (Links at bottom of author profile page.) When that goes through, it will merge with her current user account. The only way author profiles are created is by adding books, not user profiles, and it is not necessary that they be claimed.
