SOLVED. Ugly/cursed princess from ugly family, works for dark prince, curse breaks [s]

Hi!

I really need some help finding the title of a book I once read, but can't remember now.

From what I remember: It was sometime in the medieval times I think, there was a princess that was cursed to become ugly, I think that she was born with this curse, as were her other family members. There is a dark lord/king that everyone is afraid of because he is the king to death or souls or something like that. The ugly princess goes into his castle to work and they somehow fall in love later on and the curse is broken when something big happens...I know that this isn't much to go on!

Please write down any books that you remember that sounds similar to this!

Hi! Oh, okay, I changed the title! Thanks for the suggestion! Ummm, I think that it is a YA book, the girl was around 20-30 years old as I recall.

Fairest, by Gail Carson Levine? Not exact, but the main character is ugly.

This isn't the one, but it is pretty close with the kingdom and villages. This is close to the setting of the book I'm looking for. I have actually read Fairest before and I really liked it. Thanks for suggesting it!

I found the book! It was a little different than what I thought it was before, but I still love it. The book was 'Lord of the Abyss' by Nalini Singh. Thanks for all the help!
