Wow, this one is harder than I thought it would be! Would you consider an egg to be a food item? Specifically:
Will this work for bird? I don't know what kind
it is. You can't miss it--- if that's what you mean
by "identify." :-)

That works - by identify i meant point out if unclear
Sorry to hear about your hip and the resulting PT. (I've been doing a course of that due to arthritis and general wear and tear on my tailbone, so I know it's not all fun and games despite the balls and bikes and things.)No clue yet as to what I'll read for this--just wanted to commiserate.

Great! Thanks

I'm basically a sloth and they keep prodding me to move.

It looks like a bird to me
Oh noes! I hope you get all better soon o_oI'm thinking I'm going to use these two:
Option 2 (gave author 1-star rating): A Thousand Pieces of You--I gave Claudia Gray's Fateful 1 star; HIP in Thousand and Pieces
Option 4 (on tbr >1yr): The Order of the Poison Oak--on list since August 2010; HIP in THE and POISON
I think I hit all the criteria lol
Dee wrote: "yep those work! but unlike you, i liked fateful ;)"Yay! Yeah, I just couldn't get over how similar Fateful was to about ten other things that I'd seen before lol However, A Thousand Pieces of You hits all the right SF buttons for me, so I'm going to give her another try.
Dee wrote: "really, you'd read about werewolves on the titanic - that's a newbie to me ;)"True, but all the major plot points seemed ripped off from other stories/movies :P

Thanks. I just wanted to be sure. Some tasks in the past didn't allow silhouettes.

Thanks for asking about this one -- it's my next to read in that series and I wasn't even considering it at all as an option for this task! :D (For some reason I always see the Sorting Hat from Harry Potter instead of a crow when I look at it. lol.)
So it has food on the cover and has been on my TBR since May of 2009...But would you consider it as having 'H' in the title? Pride and Prescience: Or, A Truth Universally Acknowledged
It shows in the link, but I wanted to make sure.
I got so excited about slotting that first one, I totally forgot to look for a second book for your task. XD
Dee wrote: "Hi Morgan - unfortunately the H is in the subtitle which isn't included in the task option - sorry!"No problem! I pretty much figured (and I have another idea of where to see if it fits). Thanks!
Wow, this one was really hard, good job Dee! Will these work?Option 1 - Food on cover, includes letters H I P
The Lost Recipe for Happiness by Barbara O'Neal
(That's chocolate and cinnamon)
Option 3 - A Bird on cover, includes letters H I P
The Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie by Alan Bradley
(Hopefully a dead bird is okay!)
Option 2: Laughter in the Dark by Vladimir Nabokov (hated Lolita) Option 4: Two Women by Martina Cole On TBR since Jan 01, 2009

I was having a great summer until I somehow injured my hip (even the Physical Therapist doesn’t know for sure what I did, but she has some ideas)…so unfortunately, I’ve been on the injured bench for the last 2 months and being tortured by the PT during that time – hopefully those times will be beyond me soon…
This is a TWO book task, and you must read TWO different options. REQUIRED: State in your post the options you chose.
The letters in HIP MUST appear in the title (not subtitle or series title) of each book. The letters H I P need not be sequential or in any particular order.
NO books shelved as childrens or kids may be used for this task.
Option 1 - RICE – anyone who has ever been injured has probably heard the term RICE – rest, ice, compression, elevation – I honestly suck at doing all 4 of these, which is probably why I’m still hurt…but since RICE is also a food – read a book with a food item on the cover. REQUIRED - post cover and identify the food item if not clear
Option 2 - FOAM ROLLER – I have a love/hate relationship with my foam roller; I hate it while I’m using and love it because it makes my hip feel so much better after – give a second chance to an author you may not have liked in the past, who knows you may fall in love. REQUIRED: Briefly explain your answer - for example, gave a 1 or 2 star rating to another book by that author, or tried to read a book by the author and did not finish.
Option 3 - DUCK – my first session with the PT, she made the comment that it looked like I ran like a duck (which is probably why my hip is screwed up) – read a book with a bird on the cover REQUIRED – post cover and identify bird
Option 4 - CATCH-UP TIME – not being able to work out like I normally do, meant that I’ve been able to dig into my pile of books and catch up on some of the books that have been loitering for a while – read a book that has been on your TBR pile for more than a year. REQUIRED: State that the book has been on your TBR list/pile/shelf for more than a year.
