Scott (scottcantread) So I'm writing this in advance but I'm guessing that that was intense? How are you finding Words of Radiance? What do you think about what happened in Part Three? LETS DISCUSS!

WARNING - This thread will be discussing spoilers for Words of Radiance and The Way of Kings, so read ahead at your own peril!

Elad Bannett | 11 comments This part was great! I love Shallan's backstory becomimg more and more clear. I love her living a double life as Adolin's consort and Veil the con artist and aspiring member of the Ghostbloods. But without question, the best part was Adolin's duel with not one, not two, but FOUR Shardbearers at once. Whew. I had to take a break and relax after that scene. And the ending of that scene is simultaneously the best and the worst part of it. Such disaster but at the same time it makes total sense in context.
The interludes were also enjoyable. Lift's was (mostly) lighthearted and fun, while also showing us that their are more and more Surgebinders popping up all over the world and that there is a mysterious man out there who seems determined to kill them all. Szeth's was chilling. His character is very dark and disturbing. Seeing descending into what seems to be insanity is scary. Eshonai's was disturbing in a different way. Everything is going crazy with the Parshendi and it looks like they're going to end up the traditional villains instead of the identifiable ones. But this isn't their fault. If anyone, I think Venli is to blame. She ignored Eshonai's instructions and sought out Stormform, knowing the potential consequences. Btw this time around I'm reading the Words of Radiance reread at tor.com. It's very interesting if anyone wants to check it out, but only if you're not reading the book for the first time, as it contains heavy spoilers for the end.

Sophie | 55 comments Yes, completely agree with you Elad, Adolin's duel was intense!
Szeth is such an interesting character, very different from anything I've ever read before.
The Parshendi interludes are the most confusing part of the book to me. Every time I think I've worked out what's going on something happens to prove me wrong.
Adolin and Shallan's courting is amazing, their relationship is so cute as well as being funny! Having moody old Kaladin following them around everywhere adds to the drama.
I loved Wit's reappearance. I'm very intrigued to know how Shallan knows him.
I know I'm behind on this read a long but I'm hoping to finish WOR soon so I can still read Alloy of Law this month. I'm very much enjoying my Sanderson journey though so thank you to all the hosts for giving me that much needed reason to start reading Brandon Sanderson!

Jiten | 2 comments I agree with you. I think Shallan met him in the flash back bit where she is at the carnival with her family.
