Madeline | 1 comments As I start thinking about outfitting my future classroom, I’ve run into some problems with filling out my library. I am looking for suggestions for book *series* about minority groups. I’m thinking series with many books, with POC *main characters*.

Give me all of your recommendations!

Kaje Harper | 17365 comments Good luck!

One might be Gives Light series - Native American MC

Gene Gant writes single YA LGBT with POC main characters, but I'm not sure any are series.

Kim (lokilady) | 417 comments Although I don't personally recommend these books as good literature, P.C. and Kristin Cast's House of Night series centers around a mixed race lead, and other characters of different races (and sexualities) do get some of the limelight.

Gives Light is a multi-book series about a mute 16 year old boy who is given to his estranged grandmother's custody on an Arizona reservation - it's a well written (GR ratings 4.34 average) sweetly emotional story about family and Native American culture and first relationships. Check some reviews.

Rez Delnava (rez_delnava) I'll second the Rec on Gives Light

Along the same Native American themes is the duo Pukawiss The Outcast/A Scout is Brave

Skye | 14 comments Andrew Demcak's A Little Bit Langston has an important character who is Filipino. The second book in the series will be out soon and I believe he's planning more.

And the main character in Julia Ember's Unicorn Tracks is African, but that book is not part of a series as far as I'm aware.

Wonderful books, both of them.
