The September 2015 book is Someplace To Be Flying by Charles de Lint.
Who's reading?

Jalilah | 132 comments This book is probably my all time favourite of De Lint. I am not sure if I'll re-read now, but will definitely join in on discussing it.

Mary Catelli | 11 comments I hope to track it down in the library.

Katy (kathy_h) I hope to be in. I'll be traveling, at least this one I have in paperback -- would be better if it was on my kindle.

I am! Getting started a couple of days late, but I can't resist a de Lint read-along. Downloading it to my Kindle right now to make it easier. I have the hard cover, but those seem so heavy to lug around these days.

I've been putting off writing this because I felt bad about it after Jalilah's post, but I couldn't get very far with this one. I think I'm going to call it: I just don't like de Lint's writing. I'm sorry for that, because so many people love and enjoy his books, so I know I'm missing out.
I just never seem to be able to care about his characters - they all sound the same to me, from book to book, and although I love the ideas behind his plots, without characters I care about, the books fall flat for me.
I hope the rest of you enjoyed this one. I think it's a really popular de Lint book, so there are clearly some treasures to be had if you're receptive to them.

Mary Catelli | 11 comments Well -- I admit I didn't get far into myself.
