Member Choosing: Brandilyn is a stay at home mother of three who reads entirely too much. When not chasing her kids around, she is running the GLBTQ+ fiction blog Prism Book Alliance. She has been a member of Goodreads since November 2011. Happily Ever After Cafe was one of the first groups she joined shortly thereafter. However, she took a brief break from the group and in her latest incarnation has been a member since July 2012.

SEPTEMBER THEMES: (1) 1. Labor Day: {September 7th} On this day we honor those actively serving in the military. Select a book with a main character in the Military. (2) Back to School: September is the month the kiddos go back to school, so select a book with a professor or teacher as a main character. Alternately you may select a book with a student (high school or college) main character. (3) Kids Take over the Kitchen Day: {September 13th} Ahh... every parent loves and hates having their kids helping in the kitchen. Choose a book where one of the main characters has a child that is integral to the story. Bonus: Choose a story with a Chef with a kid. (4) International Talk Like a Pirate Day: {September 19th} Choose a story that has a pirate main character or takes place primarily on a boat. (5) National Punctuation Day: {September 24th] This one is for all the grammarians among us. Choose a book where one of the main characters works in the publishing industry (Author, Editor, etc).
ITEMS: September’s Birthstones is Sapphire. Its flowers are forget-me-not, morning glory, and aster. Zodiac Signs are Virgo (Virgin) or Libra (The Scales).
