So this plan of his is beyond crazy. Seems like even novice thieves would have a Plan B and C.

I'm also interested in how this little side agreement between Nina and Matthias is going to end up. Something tells me that the guy they are kidnapping might not be who they think he is - perhaps he is more aligned with their interests than reported. (hide spoiler)]

I really enjoyed this book. It had an Ocean's 11 feel to it, or maybe Leverage like. It was action packed!

I mean the next book has to be Kaz getting her back and exacting his revenge on Pekka Rollins, right?? Of course, I also want to know if Nina is ok and how it turns out with Matthais. Ok sure the tank thing was a bit far-fetched, but characters in books are supposed to do ridiculously impossible things right?

I loved how the character's evolved - Kaz's layers peeling off to reveal a vulnerable boy. Matthias finally realizing he was in a cult. Even Jasper realizing he liked Wylan. Of course, the women knew all along what they wanted, they were just patiently waiting for the guys to smarten up.

Just a random thought - thank goodness this drug wasn't around in the Grisha series. Can you imagine the Darkling with that kind of power for an hour. Scary! (hide spoiler)]

Are we supposed to read The Grisha Triology before we read? I was very confused at first when reading The Six of Crows. It felt like I was just pushed into this new world, having to try to learn all these settings, culture, and new terms. Though, I think I'm starting to get the hang of it now.

These characters are so damn young, lol. I thought they'd be in their 20's or something. I'm in my 20's and I'm not even nearly as mature as they are XD The characters are very interesting. Kaz's a crippled is the leader, Inej is a cat and a mouse. I think Jesper is a fun character, and Nina too. Now I'm interested in Matthias. But who's gonna be the Sixth Crow? (hide spoiler)]

@Grace: Oh wow! You're way ahead, haha. My pace is gonna be much slower than originally planned because I was just given more hours at work, but still gonna try to read every day.

@RoarOutLoud I read the Grisha Trilogy first and I found that it helped with understanding Grisha powers and history, but I don't think it will be a big hurdle to your enjoyment of the story.

I cried when Matthias was forced to fight the wolves, how he whispered to them and cried afterwards. Hreatbroken. The ending of Chapter 6 made me laugh a bit. I mean, I love Nina and wish nothing bad happens to her. But I couldn't help it when they first broke out Matthias, and he was whispering her name lovingly then suddenly grabbed her throat. That went from 0 to 100 real quick. Very interested in their history together, it seemed that they obviously were lovers once, but why did Nina made sure he ended up in prison?

I feel like I will adopt Wylan as my son by the end of the story. He just seemed so adorable and eventhough we just met, I already want to protect him with my life.

I should have expected that Kaz's an asshole to everyone, but I couldn't help but got angry when he was an asshole to Inej. (hide spoiler)]

Hoo-wee! I love that little Wylan set the explosion at the end of chapter 11. He reminds me of Shiro from K. He is so not cut out for this job though. My baby’s too pure. I’m so scared that Kaz will ruin him. He already kinda starts doing that.

Jesper is such a rascal, lol. “You can’t kiss me from there, Wylan.” I love to see how he have such big heart and cares for everyone. Like when Big Bolliger was shot, and now how he’s terrify of Inej dying.

I didn’t expect anything less from Kaz. He was straight, he was cruel, he knows how to get what he wants. But I didn’t think that we’ll get to see him being vulnerable this soon, allowing us to learn that Inej’s his kryptonite. Though, in a way, I guess it is to be expected since we know that he does have a heart from his constant mentions of Jordie. Just didn’t expect to see it this soon in the book with Inej. I don’t know if I’m making any sense here.

And ugh! The friggin’ angst between Matthias and Nina. Just, why did Nina did it? She regretted it the whole time, but why? And Matthias doesn’t seem to have any filter. He just tells her everything he feels. Even confessing that he even loved her.

Ah! But I love the last bit of Chapter 15 of them bickering about their ghosts. I couldn’t stop laughing, it was hilarious! (hide spoiler)]

These five chapters mostly consisted of backstories, but everything made me frustrated, lol. Kaz being Kaz, having to be hardened all the damn time. Can't admit to Inej that he cares for her more than an ounce. His backstory was heartbroken. His brother was everything to him, and he was such a good brother too. Always reassuring that everything will be alright for them. Witnessing a smol Kaz was a delight as well, he was so adorable. He even had a crush on this little girl and kept her hair ribbon. It was so sad that they were swindled and got everything taken away from them. First their father, then their money. And as we know, later Kaz was robbed of his brother as well. Man!

Little Wylan being happy when the explosive accidentally worked, haha. That was so cute, and a "shake my head" moment. Nina was like "Can you at least pretend that you knew it was gonna work?"
I wondered why he didn't open to read any of his father's e-mails.

Oh! I love the friendship among Jesper, Inej, and Nina. Sometimes it's these little things that should be most appreciated. I love it! <3

Nina backstory with Matthias explains everything now. Nina did it to save his ass. She could have done more, but it would be at her people's jeopardy so I understand why she didn't fess up the truth later. It was sad how things turned out, but at least they're both alive.

We also get to see more of Nina's personality. The playful goofy side of hers, and I love it! She's so fun to be around.

Ooh, but now I'm so worried for both Nina and Matthias. Betraying Kaz is not the best thing to do. Actually, it's probably the worst thing one could do. Gah, geee.
