I haven't read the Shadow and Bone trilogy, so I'm probably missing a ton of references, but for now I'm able to follow the story well enough.

Now I'm itching for the action to start. There're so many things that could go wrong with the plan and, if that Grisha attack was any indication, everything won't be as easy as Kaz makes it sound to be. (hide spoiler)]

This book nearly killed me with all the tension and the feelings! I love these characters, all of them, and I just want to see them end up together and happy, Kuwei included. With that ending how am I supposed to wait till I can get hold of the sequel?? (hide spoiler)]

This book was a little slow going but I'm getting into it now. I just finished part one (view spoiler)[ Wow, that prison was brutal! I bet Nina feels stupid that she risked everyone's lives to get this guy out and he ends up causing a fuss about it, something must have gone really sour if he feels like strangling her. Chapter 27 (view spoiler)[ Wow this is getting intense, I wonder what Kaz did to Rollins in that cell. I'm surprised Wylan has survived this long I'd be scared stupid if I was him too. I heard before reading this about how diverse the characters are but I love that their differences aren't made 100% clear to the reader. Like it's pretty obvious Jesper is a little gay but he isn't yelling it from the roof tops, I love that Bardugo made them all different but not in an attention seeking kind of way. Anyway... that was a rant and a half, moving on. I think Inej is my favourite character so far, she was badass getting herself up the incinerator. (hide spoiler)]

I can't believe he was ever part of a religion/army(??) that is so evil and actually still believes in some of it's crap. Kaz always seems to be there to get everyone out of sticky situations. There are some secondary characters from that series and they are set in the same world. But you do not have to read that one before Six of Crows. You can if you want to.

I started the audio book yesterday while I drove to school and unpacked. Got about halfway through!

Even though it's within the same fantasy world as the grisha trilogy bardugo has managed to make this other part of it truly feel like another part of it instead of the same environment but in a different place on the map.
