This is a feature not a bug in the system. As a writer, you want to have multiple concepts, because if you are not feeling into one, you can switch to another. You will never tell all of the stories in your head. That's one of the drawbacks of imagination.

Try doing that. It's good practice. A few years ago I decided to try writing two books at the same time. I set a goal of 4,000 words for each one before switching to the other. It wasn't easy, but I learned how to focus.
