It's so good. I don't want to spoiler just yet but god damn it...
I am happy that Aelin and Aedion are reunited. That rescue was on point! Aelin is seriously deadly. Chaol is still pissing me off!!!!! I wish Aelin would snap his neck -- that's how much he is pissing me off. I just need Rowan to enter stage left, for them to save Dorian and right the world already.Lysandra is awesome! I'm loving all the lies, betrayal and secrets within this book.
Eldie being a witchling is freaking insane!!! What Vernon wants to do with witches and Valg is stupid. I really hope Manon doesn't allow them to use these witches cause its crazy.
This is getting so damn good. Starting chapter 26 shortly!
I'm on chapter 26 so if you haven't read that far yet there might be some spoilers below.Chaol is pretty much dead to me. I like nothing about his character. He just thinks of Aelin as a monster when really she's just trying to help people. How can he not see that she doesn't want to kill Dorian but that there is a very real possibility that she might have to. Is she supposed to let Dorian kill her and anyone else that gets in the way? What a moron.
I like Eldie and Lysandra. At some point Aelin and Mannon will meet, they have to. I can't wait for that.
And Rowan! Praise Jebus he's arrived!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That was my favorite scene so far in the book.
I'm literally so happy about Aelin and Aedion being together again. Chaol is being way to moody and needs to stop what he's doing and just listen to Aelin. And honestly, I think that he needs to trust her even though things are tough as of right now.
And what about Elide?? I'm loving how the book is in between stories. And how she's keeping secrets about being witchling
I'm absolutely devastated with the direction Maas is taking Chaol's character!! Although I also don't think Celaena/Aelin has been fair to him and there have been several times I've wanted to slap her too! (really they haven't been fair to each other...jumping to conclusions, placing blame etc) I really hope their friendship can recover, even if they don't ever get back to anything romantic
Sarah J. Maas has butchered Celaena's character, as far as I am concerned. This book is pissing me off. UGH.

I understand both Chaol's and Aelin's reactions, but I think they were a bit abrupt. I think a little more build-up would have helped.
Anyway, I'm loving the book up until now, and Manon is awesome, I'm very interested to see how her story will turn out.

I'm so happy that Aedion and Aelin are together! And I'm quite upset with the sort of Chaol/Aelin feud going on. They should be working with each other, not against each other!
Aedion is quickly securing his spot as my favorite character from this series. I already loved him in HoF and he hasn't disappointed me yet. Speaking of disappointments...I agree with the people that think there's some character assassination going on with both Chaol and Celaena, they're both having moments in this book where you just stare at the page like "really" but at the same time you can kind of see where they're coming from but you don't like it and don't want it. I still like both of them and hope things get better.
I'm really liking Celaena and Lysandra's new found friendship.
Anyone else get confused about what to call Celaena now? Lol. For most of the book when thinking about it I've been calling her Aelin but when I talk about her I always refer to her as Celaena.
HOLY JESUS! THE KING HAS A MASTER? WOWZA, WAS NOT EXPECTING THAT. Although, the story has been dragging for a while, hoping more action will come into play once they get the information about the weak spots of the castle from Chaol and free magic o;

Celaena's such a better name - so kickass...Aelin sounds like an old Irish lady (no offence to old ladies or the Irish lol)
Am I delusional or is it really kind of slow? Because I remember reading Heir of Fire in one day!! And I have been reading Queen of Shadows for four days now and I am not even half way through... I want Chaol out of his moodiness! I still like him because I think he still loves Caleana and he just wants to hate her to get out of his love... I love Aedion! And I am so happy that he is Aelin's cousin because if there's one other male character that might be her love interest I will start calling her with bad words! If she does domething with Rowan, I am done with her!! I just need for them two to be just friends! ugh!! Not every man has to fall in love with her! It's statistically impossible!
Oh yes, I was getting annoyed by her having some kind of romantic entanglement (either by her or them) with every single male character that came her way. I just want a really good bro vibe, just completely platonic I love you as a friend.
I've been reading QoS for a month and am only about 200 pages into it, I remember reading all three books in one week. I'm enjoying the book so far, I'm just I'm not into it right now. I love all the new characters and I absolutely love the old ones. I just really want more Dorian. I want his plot line to get a little further, I miss him so much. I also want Chaol and Aelin to chill with their moodiness, but I'm enjoying the banter.
