I completed Crooked Little Lies. I felt confounded by the plot during the first two-thirds of this book. This may have been the author's intent by writing a primary character that lacks credibility. I liked the juxtaposition between Annie and her missing brother and Lauren's story. I found the detective interrogations humorous and fun. Although I wished that some parts of the story would have ended differently, I enjoyed the book overall.
I have been interminably distracted by life, but I FINALLY picked up Pynchon's Gravity's Rainbow again and have started section 2. I am hoping with fingers crossed to finish this book by the end of the year; I'm just trying to be realistic here.
I just started reading Kitchens of the Great Midwest and I am very excited about it. I am a born and raised Minnesota girl so I knew I just had to read this when I heard about it.
