Recommend a book about the militarized surveillance state. 1984 if written today.

Hi. This might not be what you're after because it's not militarization, but it is near-future with corporations (rather than police) controlling people and contains loss of privacy and surveillance (via social media) etc.I think it's modern Orwellian but I must declare my interest - I wrote it.
Anyway - if it's the sort of thing you're after, great. If not - sorry to have distracted you...

I will check it out. I just have a general interest in how the current political trajectory may play out.
I think George Orwell would have written something like The Tomorrow File if writing the book today. I am not saying it is a better book because it is a true masterpiece, but it is a bit more subtle.
Hi J-ray. I absolutely hate mentioning my own books and have a rule against posting anything about them on boards like this, but The Theta Timeline is a 100% match for what you're talking about. Okay, I need to go wash my hands now.

What would George Orwell write about if he wrote 1984 today?
