I read this picture book around 10 years ago. It's about a girl who paints. She lives at home with only her cat and her parrot. One day, she decides that instead of just painting the seaside, she will instead actually go there. She meets a boy, travels on a caravan, and finally gets there.
The book was probably published 20 years ago or less.
