IJ is one of my all-time favorite novels. I have read it twice and it has so much to offer everytime I read it.

Started reading it on our Wedding Anniversary - not sure what that says!" LOLOL!!! it says your husband is going to have a good night! Seriously though, I read this one & adored it! It was truly cute as all get out!

Thanks! I'm about 15% of the way in now, and totally hooked. :)

Too funny!! :D

"The reason death sticks so closely to life isn't biological necessity-it's envy. Life is so beautiful that death has fallen in love with it, a jealous, possessive love that grabs at what it can."

Me too, it has been sitting in my to read pile for a while but I've finally relented and commenced reading.

Been putting this one off most of my life! Guess it is time to dive in!

I've been looking for a good used copy of this one for ages. Finally checked it out of the library!

I've been on a comedy / satire kick myself. I've recently read The Diary of a Nobody by Grossman, A Modest Proposal by Swift, and The Nose by Gogol. So, Candide seemed like the logical next up for me. Did you end up enjoying it to the end?

I also just bought Independent People which I've wanted to read for years. I look forward to reading what you think of it.

I hope you enjoyed Wasp Factory-I liked it very much. Even though it did deal with horrors.
